Active ingredients:
chlorhexidine bigluconate;
tetracaine hydrochloride;
Auxiliary substances:
glycerol 85%,
ethanol 96%,
aspartame,
mint flavor,
propyl parahydroxybenzoate,
citric acid anhydrous,
purified water.
Pharmacological action
Anti-Angina Formula – local analgesic, antifungal, antibacterial.
Pharmacodynamics
The antibacterial effect of chlorhexidine is due to non-specific binding to phospholipids of bacterial cell membranes. Chlorhexidine can have bactericidal and bacteriostatic effects, mainly against gram-positive bacteria and Candida albicans, and to a lesser extent against gram-negative bacteria. Chlorhexidine is particularly active against Streptococcus mutans, Streptococcus salivarius, Escherichia coli, Selenomonas spp. and anaerobic bacteria. The drug is significantly less effective against such types of microorganisms as Streptococcus sanguis, Proteus, Pseudomonas, Klebsiella veillonella.
The anesthetic tetracaine has a local analgesic effect.
Ascorbic acid is a cofactor in the process of collagen synthesis and tissue regeneration, enhances immune responses and reduces capillary permeability, thereby helping to reduce inflammation and swelling of the mucous membranes of the oral cavity and pharynx.
Indications
Prevention, etiotropic and symptomatic treatment of infectious and inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity and pharynx caused by microorganisms sensitive to chlorhexidine (pharyngitis, tonsillitis, the initial stage of angina, periodontal disease, stomatitis, gingivitis, the condition after tonsillectomy or tooth extraction, etc. ); complex therapy of angina (use at the first signs of the disease – with sore throat and tickling).
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, damage or inflammation of the mucous membranes, in highly vascularized areas, phenylketonuria, children (up to 10 years).
With caution: during pregnancy and lactation, diabetes mellitus, glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency, hemochromatosis, sideroblastic anemia, thalassemia, hyperoxaluria, oxalosis and urolithiasis.
Side effects
Allergic reactions.
Interaction
Tetracaine reduces the antibacterial activity of sulfonamide preparations. Vasoconstrictors prolong the effect and reduce the toxicity of tetracaine.
Ascorbic acid increases the concentration of benzylpenicillin and tetracyclines in the blood, increases the risk of crystalluria during treatment with short-acting salicylates and sulfonamides, and reduces the concentration of oral contraceptives in the blood.
How to take, course of use and dosage
Locally. The drug is sprayed on the mucous membrane of the mouth and throat when holding your breath.
Children from 10 to 15 years: 1-2 injections per reception up to 3 times a day.
Adults and children over 15 years of age: 1-2 injections per dose up to 6 times a day. The course of treatment is not more than 5 days.
Overdose
Symptoms: Â dizziness, general weakness, cyanosis, agitation, restlessness, muscle tremor, respiratory disorders, nausea, vomiting.
Treatment: Â gastric lavage, use of saline laxatives; symptomatic therapy.
Special instructions
It is not recommended to use simultaneously with preparations for the treatment of the oral cavity and pharynx containing iodine (Lugol’s solution, povidone-iodine). Ascorbic acid, which is part of the drug, can change the results of some laboratory tests, which should be reported during the tests.
