Composition

ascorbic acid-25 mg,

sucrose (sugar) – 2.064 g,

glucose (dextrose) – 0.830 g

Pharmacological action

Ascorbic acid, which includes a dienol group, has pronounced reducing properties.

Indications

Use during pregnancy and lactation

During pregnancy and lactation, you should first consult your doctor about the dose of the drug and the duration of its use. When taking vitamin C in large doses of more than 1 g / day, pregnancy may be interrupted due to increased estrogen synthesis.

• Allergic reactions to the components of the drug, irritation of the gastrointestinal mucosa (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach cramps), when used in high doses – hyperoxalaturia and the formation of urinary stones from calcium oxalate;

• Laboratory parameters: thrombocytosis, hyperprothrombinemia, erythropenia, neutrophilic leukocytosis, hypokalemia.

How to take, course of use and dosage

Ascorbic acid is taken orally after a meal.

For preventive purposes, prescribe:

• Adults – 50-100 mg / day; children-25 mg/day. In
• the period of pregnancy and lactation,300 mg/day. for 10-15 days, then 100 mg/day.

For therapeutic purposes, prescribe:  

• Adults – 50-100 mg 3-5 times a day;
• children – 50-100 mg 2-3 times a day.

The duration of treatment depends on the nature and course of the disease and is recommended by the doctor.

Overdose

Symptoms: when taking more than 1 g/day, heartburn, diarrhea, difficulty urinating or staining the urine red, hemolysis are possible. (in patients with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency).

Treatment: symptomatic, forced diuresis.
