Indications
Preparations ascorbic acid is used for prophylactic and therapeutic purposes:
the prevention of colds, flu;
in infectious diseases with fever and intoxication;
infectious diseases and the period of convalescence;
increased need for vitamin C during pregnancy and lactation;
elderly people with insufficient and monotonous diet;
weak healing wounds, fractures, ulcers;
when intensive physical strain and mental stress, fatigue, overexertion, when fatigue, weakness, asthenia, fatigue of the muscles; prevention and treatment of scurvy, vitamin C;
if necessary, an additional source of vitamin C in the period to insufficient supply it with food, or increased need for vitamin C;
a tendency to bleed, especially the gums, haemorrhagic diathesis, nasal, pulmonary, hepatic bleeding;
Supplement during therapy with iron preparations;Â
diseases of the gastrointestinal tract (achilia, peptic ulcer, especially after bleeding, enteritis, colitis, helminthiasis, cholecystitis);
liver diseases (Botkin’s disease, chronic hepatitis and cirrhosis);
adrenal insufficiency (Addison’s disease);Â
to increase the acidity in the urine (lower pH); hemosiderosis;
melasma, erythroderma, psoriasis, chronic advanced dermatoses;
as an antioxidant – atherosclerosis, bronchial asthma, diffuse connective tissue diseases (rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, scleroderma), etc. ;
alcoholic and infectious delirium;Â acute radiation sickness;
post-transfusion complications;Â overdose of anticoagulants, poisoning with aconite, anesthetic, aniline, anthabus, barbiturates, benzene, dichloroethane, potassium permanganate, methyl alcohol, arsenic, carbon monoxide, prussic acid, sulfonamides, thallium, phenols, quinine.
