Asparcam is a source of potassium and magnesium ions and regulates metabolic processes. The mechanism of action is presumably related to the role of asparaginate as a carrier of magnesium and potassium ions in the intracellular space and the participation of asparaginate in metabolic processes. Thus, Asparcam eliminates the electrolyte imbalance, reduces the excitability and conductivity of the myocardium (moderate antiarrhythmic effect).
Asparcam is used in complex therapy for heart failure, coronary heart disease, hypokalemia, heart rhythm disorders (including myocardial infarction, overdose of cardiac glycosides).
Hypersensitivity to the drug, impaired amino acid metabolism, hypotension.

With caution: during pregnancy and lactation, in the presence of hypophosphatemia, urolithiasis (associated with impaired metabolism of Ca2+, Md2+ and ammonium phosphate).
From the digestive system: Â nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea may occur.
From the cardiovascular system: Â possible violations of myocardial conduction.
From the central nervous system: Â dizziness.
Asparcam reduces sensitivity to cardiac glycosides.
Asparcam is prescribed orally, after meals.
Usually prescribed for adults 1-2 tablets 3 times a day.
The course of treatment is 3-4 weeks.
If necessary, the course is repeated.
Symptoms: Â hyperkalemia and hypermagnesemia.
Treatment: Â intravenous calcium chloride; if necessary, hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis.
In case of rhythm disturbances in combination with AV blockade, it is not recommended to prescribe the drug.
The combined use of Asparcam and potassium-sparing diuretics increases the risk of hyperkalemia.
