Pharmacological action
Pharmaceutical group:
glucocorticosteroid for topical use.
Pharmaceutical action:
Beloderm-corticosteroids for external use; has anti-inflammatory local, anti-allergic, anti-edematous and antiproliferative effects.
It has a stronger vasoconstrictor effect than other fluoro derivatives of corticosteroids; systemic effects are insignificant due to limited absorption through the skin.
When exposed to the skin, the marginal accumulation of neutrophils is prevented, which leads to a decrease in exudation, cytokine production, and inhibition of macrophage migration, ultimately leading to a decrease in infiltration and granulation processes.
Indications
Conditions in which topical corticosteroid therapy is effective, including:
- Atopic dermatitis.
- Neurodermatitis.
- Allergic contact dermatitis.
- Eczema (various forms).
- Contact dermatitis (including professional dermatitis).
- Non-allergic dermatitis (including sun and radiation dermatitis).

Side effects
Side effects are usually mild in nature.
Dermatological reactions: Â rarely – hypersensitivity reactions (itching, burning, hyperemia), acne-like changes, hypopigmentation, striae, skin atrophy, hypertrichosis, telangiectasia, secondary skin infections.
If a hypersensitivity reaction or adverse reactions develop, the drug should be discontinued.
Interaction
The interaction of Beloderm with other medicinal products is unknown.
How to take, course of use and dosage
The drug is intended for external use only.
Cream or ointment for external use is applied to the affected area of the skin in a thin layer 2 times / day, lightly rubbing. On areas with denser skin (for example, elbows, palms and feet), as well as places from which the drug is easily erased, the drug can be applied more often. The duration of continuous treatment is usually no more than 4 weeks.
To prevent relapses in the treatment of chronic diseases, therapy should be continued for some time after all symptoms disappear.
Repeated courses of therapy are possible throughout the year.
Cream for external use is used for the treatment of acute, including wet skin lesions.
Ointment for external use is intended for the treatment of subacute and chronic dermatoses, including dry, lichenized and flaky lesions, or in cases where the occlusive effect of the ointment is necessary.
Overdose
Symptoms: Â with prolonged continuous use of the drug, especially in children, on extensive skin surfaces, when applied to skin with impaired integrity or when used under an occlusive dressing, side effects associated with suppression and insufficiency of the adrenal cortex may develop.
Treatment: Â it is recommended to cancel the drug and, if necessary, prescribe symptomatic therapy.
Special instructions
Long-term use of the drug on the skin of the face is not recommended, as rosacea, perioral dermatitis and acne may develop.
The drug should not be used in the eye area, due to the likelihood of getting the drug on the mucous membrane, which can contribute to the development of cataracts, glaucoma, fungal infections of the eye and exacerbation of herpes infection.
Some areas of the body, such as the armpits, inguinal folds, where there is a natural occlusion, are more at risk of striae, so the use of the drug on these areas of the skin should be short-lived.
If a fungal or bacterial infection develops on the skin, additional use of an antibacterial or antifungal agent is necessary.
Use in pediatrics
The drug can be prescribed to children from 6 months with caution and for the shortest possible time. Do not apply the drug under bandages and, especially, under plasticized diapers, as this increases the absorption of the drug and increases the risk of side effects.
