Pharmacological action
Birch tar has an anti-pediculous, local irritant, antiseptic effect.
Indications
Parasitic and fungal skin diseases (eczema, psoriasis, scaly lichen, smooth skin trichophytosis, sycosis, scabies, etc. )
Contraindications
- Individual intolerance,
- eczema in the acute stage,
- with impaired renal function.
Side effects
Prolonged use may cause skin irritation.
How to take, course of use and dosage
Externally. For psoriasis, eczema, and neurodermatitis.
1st method of use: the liquid is applied in a thin layer to the skin lesions 1-2 times a day under the bandage.
2nd method of use: the liquid is applied to the lesions 1 time a day, gradually increasing the application time from 10 to 30 minutes. After this time, the drug is washed off from the skin with warm water under a shower using soap or gel. Dry skin or a feeling of tightness is eliminated by applying emollient creams or ointments.
3rd method of use: 100-150 ml of a mixture with alcohol (1: 1 or 1: 2) used for tar baths.
