Composition
100 g of syrup contains:
Active substances:
liquid extract of thyme grass (Thymus vulgaris) (1: 2-2.5; extracting agent according to DAB 10*) 15 g;
liquid extract of ivy leaves (Hedera helix) (1: 1; extracting agent: ethanol 70% by volume) 1.5 g;
ethanol content:
7% (in volume terms).
Auxiliary substances:
purified water,
maltitol syrup,
potassium sorbate,
citric acid monohydrate.
Pharmacological action
Expectorant of vegetable origin.
The drug has an expectorant, anti-inflammatory, secretolytic, bronchodilatory effect, helps to reduce the viscosity of sputum and accelerate its evacuation.
Indications
In the treatment of acute and chronic inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract, accompanied by cough and sputum formation (tracheitis, tracheobronchitis, bronchitis).
Use during pregnancy and lactation
It is not recommended to take the drug during pregnancy and lactation.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug; children under 3 months of age;
Due to the presence of ethanol, it is not recommended to prescribe the drug for alcoholism, epilepsy, liver diseases, diseases and brain injuries.
Side effects
Possible allergic reactions.
Interaction
Bronchipret syrup should not be used simultaneously with antitussive medications, as well as with medications that reduce the formation of sputum, as this makes it difficult to cough up liquefied sputum.
Combination with antibacterial drugs is possible.
How to take, course of use and dosage
The drug is prescribed orally, after a meal.
When assigned according to age:
- Children from 3 months to 12 months: 10-16 drops 3 times a day.
- Children over 1 year of age: 17 drops (with an addition of 3 drops for each additional year of life) 3 times a day.
When prescribed according to body weight:
- Children from 3 months to 12 months: 10-16 drops 3 times a day.
- Children older than 1 year: on (total number of drops = 1 drop per kg of body weight + 10 drops) 3 times a day.
- Age (years) – from 3 to 12 months; body weight (kg) – up to 10; number of drops (single dose) – 10-16.
- Age (years) – 1-2; body weight (kg) – 10-11; number of drops (single dose) – 17.
- Age (years) – 2-3; body weight (kg) – 12-13; number of drops (single dose) – 20.
- Age (years) – 3-4; body weight (kg) – 14-15; number of drops (single dose) – 23.
- Age (years) – 4-5; body weight (kg) – 16-18; number of drops (single dose) – 26.
- Age (years) – 5-6; body weight (kg) – 19-20; number of drops (single dose) – 29.

If the body weight significantly differs from the age category indicated in the table, then the drug use should be focused only on the patient’s body weight.
Using the supplied measuring cup:
- Children from 3 to 12 months – 1.1 ml 3 times a day.
- Children from one to 2 years – 2.2 ml 3 times a day.
- Children from 2 to 6 years – 3.2 ml 3 times a day.
- Children from 6 to 12 years – 4.3 ml 3 times a day.
- Adolescents from 12 years of age and adults – 5.4 ml 3 times a day.
Undiluted Bronchipret ® syrup is recommended to be washed down with water.
The course of treatment is 10-14 days. An increase in the duration and repeated courses of treatment is possible on the recommendation of a doctor.
Overdose
Overdose may cause stomach pain, vomiting, and diarrhea.
Special instructions
If the use of the drug for 10 to 14 days, the symptoms of the disease persist, you should consult a doctor.
The preparation contains 7% ethanol (by volume). The maximum recommended adult single dose of 5.4 ml contains 0.297 g of alcohol.
The drug should be prescribed with caution to children (due to the possible negative effects of ethanol).
The drug can be prescribed to patients with diabetes mellitus, since a single dose contains less than 0.03 counted bread units.
With prolonged storage, the Bronchipret ® syrup may become cloudy, which does not affect its effectiveness.
Before use, the contents of the bottle should be shaken.
