Concomitant use of Buscopan and dopamine antagonists (e. g., metoclopramide) results in a weakening of the effect on the gastrointestinal tract of both drugs.
Buscopan may increase tachycardia caused by beta-adrenomimetics.
How to take, course of use and dosage
Rectally (suppositories), unless otherwise prescribed, adults and children over 6 years of age — 1-2 suppositories 3 times a day.
Suppositories should be removed from the shell and inserted into the rectum with the pointed end facing forward.
The duration of application is determined by the doctor.
Overdose
Currently, cases of Buscopan overdose are not described, so the following symptoms and recommendations are theoretical in nature.
Symptoms: Â urinary retention, dry mouth, skin redness, tachycardia, gastrointestinal motility depression, transient visual disturbances.
Treatment: Â gastric lavage with activated charcoal and then 15% magnesium sulfate solution. Further use of cholinomimetics is shown.
For glaucoma, pilocarpine is prescribed locally (in the form of eye drops).
If necessary, prescribe cholinomimetics for systemic use (for example, inject intravenous or intravenous neostigmine at a dose of 0.5-2.5 mg); conduct maintenance and symptomatic therapy; with paralysis of the respiratory muscles – intubation and mechanical ventilation; with urinary retention – catheterization of the bladder.
Special instructions
