Sedalgin Plus is a combined drug that has analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory effects.
Metamizole sodium is a pyrazolone derivative and has analgesic, antipyretic and weak anti-inflammatory effects, the mechanism of which is associated with inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis due to cyclooxygenase inhibition.
Caffeine-has a stimulating effect on the central nervous system (CNS), mainly on the cerebral cortex, respiratory and vasomotor centers. Increases mental and physical performance, reduces drowsiness and fatigue.
Caffeine increases the permeability of histohematic barriers and increases the bioavailability of non-narcotic analgesics, thereby enhancing the therapeutic effect.
Thiamine (vitamin B) is involved in the metabolism, and contributes to the improvement of neuro-reflex conduction.
Concomitant use of metamizole sodium (analgin) with other non-narcotic analgesics, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs may lead to a mutual increase in toxic effects.
Tricyclic antidepressants, oral contraceptives, and allopurinol disrupt the metabolism of metamizole sodium in the liver and increase its toxicity.
Barbiturates, phenylbutazone (butadione) and other inducers of microsomal liver enzymes weaken the effect of metamizole sodium. Simultaneous use of metamizole sodium with cyclosporine reduces the concentration of the latter in the blood.
Sedatives and tranquilizers enhance the analgesic effect of metamizole sodium.

Symptoms: Â nausea and vomiting sometimes with blood, stomach pain, mental and motor agitation, tachycardia, cardiac arrhythmias, possible decrease or increase in diuresis, convulsions, anxiety, confusion, delirium, dehydration, hyperthermia, headache, increased tactile or pain sensitivity, tremor or muscle twitching; tinnitus, epileptic seizures (in acute overdose – tonic-clonic).
Treatment: Â you should seek immediate medical attention. The victim should be given gastric lavage, adsorbents (for example, activated charcoal), and laxatives.
If necessary, symptomatic treatment is performed (for hemorrhagic gastritis – use of antacid medications and gastric lavage with an icy 0.9% sodium chloride solution; maintenance of lung ventilation and oxygenation; for epileptic seizures-intravenous diazepam, phenobarbital or phenytoin; maintaining fluid and salt balance).
Excessive consumption of caffeinated products (tea, coffee) during treatment may cause symptoms of overdose.
Use with caution and under medical supervision in patients with impaired liver or kidney function.
Concomitant use of the drug with alcoholic beverages is not recommended. Patients with atopic bronchial asthma, pollinosis, have an increased risk of developing hypersensitivity reactions.
Influence on the ability to drive vehicles and work with mechanisms
Caution should be exercised when driving vehicles and working with mechanisms that require increased concentration of attention and speed of psychomotor reactions, since dizziness may develop when taking the drug.
