Composition

1 tablet contains metamizole sodium 500 mg,

pitofenone hydrochloride 5 mg,

fenpiverinium bromide 100 mcg

Pharmacological action

Spasgan is a combined drug that belongs to the group of aldehydes and antispasmodics.

The composition of the drug includes: non-narcotic analgesic metamizole sodium (analgin), myotropic antispasmodic agent pitofenone hydrochloride and cholinoblocking agent fenpiverinium bromide.

Metamizole is a derivative of pyrozolone. It has analgesic, antipyretic, and weak anti-inflammatory effects.

Pitofenone, like papaverine, has a direct myotropic effect on the smooth muscles of internal organs and causes its relaxation.

Fenpiverinium has an additional relaxing effect on smooth muscles due to its holinoblocking effect.

The combination of the three components of the drug leads to a mutual strengthening of their pharmacological action.

Indications

• pain of various origins
• spasms of internal organs (renal colic, biliary colic)
• postoperative pain. spasms of the brain vessels.

Contraindications

• agranulocytosis
• ischemic heart
• disease glaucoma
• prostate adenoma
• severe hepatic-renal insufficiency
• hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

Side effects

• a decrease in the number of white blood cells in the blood
• a drop in blood pressure
• impaired renal function
• allergic reactions.

Interaction

Concomitant use of Spasgan with other non-narcotic analgesics can lead to a mutual increase in toxic effects.

Tricyclic antidepressants, oral contraceptives, and allopurinol disrupt the metabolism of metamizole in the liver and increase its toxicity.

Barbiturates, phenylbutazone, and other inducers of microsomal liver enzymes weaken the effect of metamizole. Concomitant use with cyclosporine reduces the level of the latter in the blood. Sedatives and tranquilizers enhance the analgesic effect of Spasgan.

How to take, course of use and dosage

Inside:  adults and teenagers over 15 years of age:  1-2 tablets 4 times a day, without chewing, and with a small amount of liquid. Children 12-14 years old:  single dose-1 tablet, maximum daily dose-6 tablets (1.5 tablets 4 times a day),8-11 years – 0.5 tablets, maximum daily dose – 4 tablets (1 tablet 4 times a day),5-7 years – 0.5 tablets, maximum daily dose – 2 tablets (0.5 tablets 4 times a day).

Overdose

Symptoms:  vomiting, decreased blood pressure, drowsiness, confusion, nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain, liver and kidney function disorders, convulsions.

Treatment:  gastric lavage, use of activated charcoal, symptomatic therapy.

Special instructions

In patients with bronchial asthma, taking the drug can provoke the development of an attack.
