Pharmacological action
Combined preparation containing vitamin DZ, micro-and macronutrients. Regulates phosphorus-calcium metabolism, makes up for the relative deficiency of trace elements and vitamin DZ, prevents diseases of the musculoskeletal system, helps strengthen the bone system and joints.
Calcium, which is part of the drug, is a building component for bone tissue, regulates the permeability of the vascular wall, participates in the regulation of conduction in synapses and neuromuscular connections, participates in the contractile activity of skeletal and smooth muscles, and is a necessary component for the blood clotting process.
Calcium is represented in the preparation by carbonate and citrate salts. Calcium carbonate contains the maximum amount of elemental calcium. Calcium citrate reduces the dependence of the process of calcium bioavailability on the state of the gastrointestinal mucosa, prevents concretion in the urinary system even in the case of prolonged use, reduces excessive production of parathyroid hormone.
Vitamin D (cholecalciferol) promotes adequate absorption of calcium, participates in the processes of regeneration and building bone tissue. Zinc is a component of various enzymes of the body (more than 200 types) that synthesize proteins and nucleic acids. It also provides gene expression, cell regeneration and growth. It has a positive effect on the activity of the alkaline phosphatase enzyme.
Manganese promotes the synthesis of substances that are components of bone and cartilage tissue (glycosaminoglycans). Potentiates the calcium-sparing ability of vitamin D.
Copper is involved in the formation of elastin and collagen. Helps to stop the phenomenon of demineralization of bone structures. Boron normalizes the activity of the parathyroid hormone-parathyroid hormone. The latter is involved in the exchange of calcium, cholecalciferol, phosphorus, and magnesium. The effect on the mineral metabolism of parathyroid hormone does not depend on the intake of vitamin D3.
Indications
- Prevention and comprehensive treatment of osteoporosis of various origins:
- To compensate for the lack of calcium and trace elements in adolescents, women during pregnancy and lactation.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
During pregnancy and lactation, the use of the drug should be agreed with your doctor.
the daily dose should not exceed 1500 mg of calcium and 600 IU of vitamin D3, hyperhalcemia that develops against the background of overdose during pregnancy can cause mental and physical development defects in the fetus.
In nursing women, it should be taken into account that colecalciferol and its metabolites pass into breast milk, so it is necessary to take into account the intake of calcium and vitamin D3.
Contraindications
Increased individual sensitivity to any of the components of the drug, hypercalcemia and hypercalciuria, nephroltiasis, vitamin D3 hypervitaminosis, severe renal failure, active tuberculosis, decalcifying tumors (myeloma, bone metastases, sarcoidosis), children under 5 years of age.
With caution:
Benign granulomatosis, taking cardiac glycosides and thiazide diuretics, pregnancy, lactation.
Side effects
Nausea, vomiting, flatulence, diarrhea, constipation, hypercalcemia, hypercalciuria, allergic reactions (pruritus, rash, urticaria).
Interaction
Concomitant use of Calcemin with vitamin A reduces the toxicity of vitamin D3. Phenytoin, barbiturates, corticosteroids reduce the effectiveness of vitamin D3. Laxatives reduce the absorption of vitamin D3. Corticosteroids, hormonal contraceptives for systemic use, levothyroxine worsen the absorption of calcium ions.
With simultaneous use of tetracyclines, the interval between doses should be at least 3 hours, bisphosphonates and sodium fluoride (their absorption is impaired). — at least 2 hours.
Concomitant use of Calcemin with cardiac glycosides increases their toxicity (ECG monitoring and clinical status is necessary), with thiazide diuretics-increases the risk of hypercalcemia, with furosemide and other loop diuretics-increases the excretion of calcium by the kidneys.
Calcemin should not be used simultaneously with calcium channel blockers. Concomitant use of the drug with antacids containing aluminum is not recommended due to a decrease in their effectiveness.
How to take, course of use and dosage
Inside.
Children from 5 to 12 years to take 1 tab. 1 time a day with meals.
Adults and children over 12 years of age – 1 tablet 2 times a day with meals.
During pregnancy and breastfeeding: from the 20th week of pregnancy and the entire period of breastfeeding-1 tablet 2 times a day.
The minimum course of taking the drug for the treatment of osteoporosis as part of complex therapy for adults is 3 months, a longer course – after consulting a doctor.
The minimum course of taking the drug for the prevention of osteoporosis for adults is 1 month, a longer course – after consulting a doctor.
The minimum course of taking the drug for children and adults with a deficiency of calcium and trace elements is 2-3 months, a longer course – after consulting a doctor.
A second course of taking the drug is possible 1 month after the end of treatment.
Overdose
Symptoms: constipation, nausea, and vomiting may occur.
Overdose symptoms also include hypercalcemia and hypercalciuria, which leads to the accumulation of calcium in soft tissues and irreversible changes in the kidneys and cardiovascular system.
Description
Calcemin No. 30 Complex of calcium, vitamin D3 and minerals Calcemin (1) is a preparation of calcium, vitamin D3 and minerals for the prevention of bone fragility and complex treatment of osteoporosis. With age, calcium is washed out of the bones, and they become brittle. Unlike other calcium supplements (2), Calcemin contains special minerals (zinc, manganese, copper, boron) to form a collagen network that keeps calcium in the bone tissue, preventing it from leaching out. In addition, Calcemin is suitable for pregnant women and children from 5 years of age. Calcemin is used: – for the prevention and comprehensive treatment of osteoporosis – to compensate for the lack of calcium and trace elements in children, adolescents and women during pregnancy and lactation-Calcemin to keep the bones strong!1. There are contraindications. Please consult a specialist before using it. 2. In the ATX group: A12AX (Calcium supplements in combination with other drugs).
