1 g camphor 100 mg
Pharmacological action
Product of plant origin. When applied externally, it has antimicrobial, locally irritating, analgesic and anti – inflammatory effects; when administered parenterally, it has analeptic, cardiotonic, vasoconstrictor and expectorant effects. Stimulating sensitive nerve endings of the skin, reflexively improves the trophism of organs and tissues.
When administered subcutaneously, it stimulates the respiratory and vasomotor centers of the medulla oblongata. Increases metabolic processes in the myocardium, increasing its sensitivity to the influence of sympathetic nerves.
Increases the tone of venous vessels, increases blood flow to the heart, coronary blood flow, blood supply to the brain and lungs. Secreted from the body through the respiratory tract, it helps to separate sputum.
Pharmacokinetics
After subcutaneous use, camphor penetrates well through the BBB and placental barrier, and is excreted in breast milk.
It is excreted by the kidneys (70%), as well as through the lungs (20%) and with bile (10%).
Indications
Externally: Â myositis, neuralgia, prevention of pressure sores.
Contraindications
Violation of the integrity of the skin.

For external use: Â allergic skin reactions, skin irritation.
