Composition

Cerebrolysate-hydrolysate of the brain of cattle, contains free amino acids and peptides.

The amino acid composition of cerebrolysate varies within the following limits in milligrams per milliliter (mg / ml):

L-lysine is 1.9±0,95;

L-histidine — 0,6±0,30;

L-arginine was 1.7±0,90;

aspartic acid to 1.8±0,80;

L-threonine and 1.4±0,70;

Pharmacological action

Pharmacodynamics

Cerebrolysin enhances protein synthesis in nerve cells, increases resistance of brain tissue to intoxication, hypoxia, hypoglycemia, mechanical trauma.

The drug activates integrative processes in the central nervous system, improves concentration of attention, processes of memorization and reproduction of information.

Pharmacokinetics

Pharmacokinetic analysis is difficult due to the complex composition of cerebrolysate, which includes the sum of free amino acids and peptides.

Indications

Cerebrolysate is used in adult patients with disorders of the cortical functions of the central nervous system caused by cerebral circulation disorders, with dyscirculatory encephalopathy and in patients with post-traumatic asthenic syndrome.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity.

Use caution when: acute renal failure, allergic diathesis, generalized seizures, pregnancy (I trimester).

Side effects

Injections of the drug are painful, in some cases it is possible to irritate the tissues at the injection site.

In hypertensive diseases of the II-III degree, an increase in blood pressure may occur during treatment with cerebrolysate.

How to take, course of use and dosage

The drug is used as prescribed by a doctor.

Cerebrolysate is administered intramuscularly for 1-5 ml daily or every other day, the course of treatment is 20-30 injections.

After a 3-6-month break, the course of treatment with cerebrolysate can be repeated.

Special instructions

Special care should be taken when used in patients with acute renal failure. With caution, the drug is prescribed for allergic diathesis, large convulsive seizures.
