Pharmacological action
The expectorant effect of breast elixir is due to the action of its components. – licorice root extract has some anti-inflammatory and expectorant properties, which are associated with the content of glycyrrhizin in the roots, which stimulates the activity of the ciliated epithelium in the trachea and bronchi, as well as enhances the secretory function of the mucous membranes of the upper respiratory tract;- anise oil has an expectorant effect due to the content of anethole in the oil, which promotes reflex arousal of respiration, increases the activity of the ciliated epithelium of the respiratory tract and increases the secretion of the mucous membranes of the larynx, trachea, bronchi;- ammonia has an irritating effect, which leads to excitation of the endings of the sensitive nerves of the upper respiratory tract and reflex stimulation of the respiratory center.
Indications
As an expectorant for infectious and inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract, accompanied by the formation of difficult-to-separate sputum (including tracheitis, tracheobronchitis, bronchitis).
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, bronchial asthma, gastritis, peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum during exacerbation, pregnancy, lactation. With caution. Liver diseases, alcoholism, traumatic brain injury, brain diseases.
Side effects
Allergic reactions are possible, and in some cases diarrhea may occur.
Interaction

Overdose
