Pharmacological action-chondrostimulating, chondroprotective. Participates in the construction of the main substance of cartilage and bone tissue. Improves phosphorus-calcium metabolism in cartilage tissue, inhibits enzymes that disrupt the structure and function of articular cartilage, inhibits the processes of cartilage degeneration. It stimulates the synthesis of glucosaminoglycans, normalizes the metabolism of hyaline tissue, and promotes the regeneration of cartilage surfaces and joint bags. Prevents compression of connective tissue, increases the production of intra-articular fluid, increases the mobility of affected joints. Slows down bone resorption, reduces calcium loss and accelerates bone repair processes, inhibits the progression of osteoarthritis. It has an analgesic effect, reduces joint soreness, pain at rest and when walking, the severity of inflammation, and helps reduce the need for NSAIDs. After oral use, it is rapidly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. Cmax is reached in 3-4 hours. It accumulates in the synovial fluid of the joints. Bioavailability is 13%. It is excreted by the kidneys.

Intramuscularly,1 ml every other day. Before use, the contents of the ampoule are dissolved in 1 ml of water for injection. If well tolerated, the dose is increased to 2 ml, starting with the fourth injection. The course of treatment is 25-35 injections. Repeat courses – in 6 months.
The duration of repeated courses of treatment is determined by the doctor. To achieve a stable clinical effect, at least 25 injections of chondroitin sulfate are required, while the effect persists for a long time for many months after the end of the course of treatment. Repeated courses of treatment are indicated to prevent exacerbations.
