Composition

>of 100 g of gel contains: Active ingredient: Chondroitin sulfate — 5 g. Excipients: Dimethyl sulfoxide, propylene glycol, Isopropanol, Ethanol (95% ethyl alcohol), Sodium disulfite (sodium metabisulfite), Nipagin, Nipazole, Carbopol, Orange flavor identical to natural, purified water — up to 100 g.

Pharmacological action

Chondroxide ® gel has a combined effect:

• slows down the progression of osteoarthritis and osteochondrosis;
• has an analgesic effect;
• has an anti-inflammatory effect;
• stimulates the restoration of articular cartilage;
• improves joint mobility;
• reduces joint swelling.

Due to the optimal combination of gel components, there is a mutual strengthening of their analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects. The use of the drug Chondroxide®, gel allows you to reduce the dose of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs taken. Chondroxide® contains the natural component chondroitin sulfate (a high-molecular mucopolysaccharide), which is involved in the construction of cartilage tissue. Chondroitin Sulfate: – improves phosphorus-calcium metabolism in cartilage tissue; – reduces the activity of enzymes that destroy cartilage tissue; – inhibits the processes of degeneration (destruction) of cartilage tissue; – stimulates the synthesis of glycosaminoglycans; – prevents the collapse of connective tissue. This leads to a reduction in soreness and increased mobility of the affected joints. Pharmacokineticsacondroxide ® gel is well absorbed. In accordance with the data obtained in experimental studies on mice using radiolabeled ZN – chondroitin sulfate, the absorption rate of chondroitin sulfate is 14%. Dimegylsulfoxide promotes better penetration of chondroitin sulfate through cell membranes and deep into tissues. Chondroitin sulfate after applying the drug Chondroxide® gel to the skin quickly and selectively enters the joint with reaching the maximum concentration after 30 minutes and subsequent two-phase elimination of the drug from the cartilage tissue. Completion of the rapid elimination phase occurs 1 hour after application. The drug retention time in the joint is 5 hours.

Indications

Treatment and prevention of degenerative-dystrophic diseases of the joints and spine: osteoarthritis of the peripheral joints and osteochondrosis of the spine.

Use during pregnancy and lactation

Chondroxide is contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation.

Contraindications

• pregnancy;
• lactation;
• hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

With caution, the drug should be used for bleeding or with a tendency to bleed.

Side effects

In some cases:  allergic reactions, nausea, diarrhea.

How to take, course of use and dosage

Externally. Chondroxide ® gel is applied 2-3 times a day to the skin above the lesion and rubbed in for 2-3 minutes until completely absorbed. The course of treatment is from 2-3 weeks to 2-3 months. If necessary, the course of treatment is repeated.

Special instructions

Avoid getting the drug on the mucous membranes and open wounds. In case of contact with skin or clothing, the gel is easily washed off with water, leaving no traces. Do not use the drug without consulting a doctor during pregnancy and lactation, as well as in childhood.

Form of production

Gel for external use 5% in aluminum tubes of 20,25,30,35,40 g. Tube with instructions for medical use of the drug in a cardboard box.
