Pharmacological action
The Active ingredient of the drug is a retinoid derivative – Adapalene, which exhibits anti-inflammatory and comedonolytic activity. Adapalene takes part in the normalization of the processes of epidermal differentiation and keratinization, inhibits the formation of microcomedones and reduces the manifestations of the inflammatory process.
The mechanism of action of the Active ingredient of the drug Clenzit is its ability to influence specific gamma-receptors of the epidermal cells of the skin, lowering their cohesive surface in the mouths of sebaceous-hair follicles.
In vivo and in vitro studies have shown that Adapalene has a pronounced anti-inflammatory effect, due to its effect on the factors of the inflammatory process. Inhibits arachidonic acid metabolism and leukocyte migration.
When the gel is applied externally, the systemic absorption of its Active ingredient Adapalene is quite low, about 4% of the dose used.
From the systemic circulation, it is excreted by the liver.
