Composition

Bandage base: perforated non-woven white polyester (100%).

Adhesive layer: synthetic transparent hypoallergenic rubber adhesive applied in strips.

The absorbent pad consists of 4 layers:

1) Wound contact layer: permeable polyurethane mesh

2) Transfer layer: viscose

3) metallic silver coated layer

4)Blocking layer: super Absorbent Fibers (SAF)

Characteristics

COSMOPOR Antibacterial is a self – adhesive, sterile wound dressing made of soft nonwoven fabric with silver ions. Helps reduce the risk of infection and provides high absorbency.

The soft non-woven fabric of the bandage base is breathable and skin-friendly. Rounded edges minimize the risk of spontaneous peeling of the bandage. Hypoallergenic adhesive is applied in strips, which contributes to a more comfortable wearing of the bandage.

The absorbent pad consists of 4 layers.

1) The layer in contact with the wound prevents the dressing from sticking to the wound and traumatizing the wound surface during dressing.

2) The conductive layer absorbs the wound discharge and transfers it to the next silver-containing layer.

3) The silver-containing layer stops the growth of bacteria located in the wound discharge.

4) The sorption layer of super absorbent fibers has a high absorbency, blocks the wound fluid in the layer and prevents it from re-releasing into the wound even under pressure.

Advantages of DryBarrier®technology

1. No breeding ground for bacteria

High sorption capacity and low level of re-moistening.

Exudate is removed from the wound and retained inside the sorption layer of the pad (even under pressure).

The breeding ground for bacteria is virtually nonexistent.

2. Infection prevention

For wounds with an increased risk of infection. Reducing the risk of infection due to silver ions contained in the silver-containing layer.

3. For wounds with a high level of exudation

The dressing does not deform due to increased absorbency.

Indications

• Protection of postoperative wounds with a high level of exudation
• For wounds with medium to high risk of infection (cuts, abrasions, etc. )
• As an additional prevention of possible infections in the treatment of wounds

Recommendations for use

The pad should completely cover the wound. DryBarrier ® technology does not have an antibacterial effect outside the wound pad. Do not recommend using a bandage for inflamed abrasions and burns. KOSMOPOR Antibacterial suppresses microbes in the released wound fluid in the thickness of the pad and does not have an antibacterial effect on the wound. Treatment of any infected wound requires a medical assessment of the wound’s condition and the cause of infection must be established. Treatment KOSMOPOR Antibacterial cannot replace treatment with antibiotics.

Individual intolerance.

Storage conditions

Store in a dry place, protected from direct sunlight and moisture, at t from 0°C to 30°C.
