Pharmacological action
Cuprum metallicum, precipitated, is a red metal that is practically insoluble in water and alcohol.
Copper has a powerful metabolic effect due to its incorporation with proteins: ceruloplasmin, oxidases (especially cytochrome oxidase, which is involved in the mitochondrial respiratory chain), superoxide dismutase, which is involved in the metabolism of free radicals, oxygen derivatives, which explains the role of copper as an oligoelement regulating the inflammatory response.
Indications
The key symptoms for prescribing the drug
- are spastic pain, in most cases of a convulsive type;
- convulsions, especially of the calf muscles;
- dizziness;
- paroxysmal cough.
Main cases of clinical use
Clinical indications are mainly represented by diseases with a predominance of muscle spasms (we are talking about both striated and smooth muscles), which can be accompanied by a violation of the function of the digestive tract.

- : convulsions of the calf muscles at night, especially in pregnant women and elderly patients;
- algomenorrhea after the installation of an intrauterine device made of copper;
convulsive precardial pain.

How to take, course of use and dosage
Sublingual.
Granules should be absorbed in the mouth 30 minutes before meals or 60 minutes after meals.
For children from 0 to 3 years of age, the pellets are pre-diluted, shaking, in 10-15 ml of water at room temperature and given to drink.
The optimal amount per dose is 5 pellets.
