Pharmacological action

Antispasmodic agent of myotropic action, a derivative of benzimidazole. It has an antispasmodic effect on the smooth muscles of blood vessels and internal organs.

Lowers blood pressure by reducing cardiac output and dilating peripheral blood vessels. The hypotensive activity of bendazole is very moderate, and the effect is short-lived.

Causes short-term dilation of brain vessels.

Facilitates synaptic transmission in the spinal cord.

Immunostimulating activity is associated with the regulation of the ratio of cGMP and cAMP concentrations in immune cells (increases the content of cGMP), which leads to the proliferation of mature sensitized T – and B-lymphocytes, their secretion of mutual regulation factors, cooperative reaction, and activation of the final effector function of cells.

Interaction

With the combined use of diuretic drugs, phentolamine and antihypertensive drugs with bendazole, there is a mutual increase in the hypotensive effect.

The drug, when used in combination with beta-adrenergic blockers, prevents an increase in total peripheral vascular resistance.

How to take, course of use and dosage

Inside (2 hours before meals or 2 hours after meals) – 20-50 mg 2-3 times a day for 3-4 weeks or shorter courses.

In the treatment of diseases of the nervous system – 5 mg 1 time a day or every other day, the course — 5-10 receptions.

Children under the age of 1 year-1 mg 1 time a day,1-3 years-2 mg,4-8 years-3 mg,9-12 years-4 mg, older than 12 years-5 mg. If necessary, repeat the course in 3-4 weeks.

Special instructions

Dibazole is not recommended for long-term use in the treatment of high blood pressure, especially in elderly patients.
