Composition
Eye drops 0.1% in the form of a clear colorless or light yellow solution.
1 ml diclofenac sodium 1 mg
Auxiliary substances:
sodium chloride,
propylene glycol,
sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate (sodium phosphoric acid single-substituted dihydrate),
disodium hydrophosphate dodecahydrate (sodium phosphoric acid double-substituted 12-water),

Pharmacological action
Diclofenac eye drops reduce the synthesis of substances that activate and support inflammation (prostaglandins) in the lesion, quickly reducing pain, reducing inflammatory edema. Diclofenac is superior in its anti-inflammatory activity to ibuprofen, butadione and acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin).
In the cornea and conjunctiva, the Active ingredient reaches its maximum concentration 30 minutes after instillation of the drug. Diclofenac is not detected in significant concentrations in the systemic circulation. Penetrates the anterior chamber of the eye.
Indications
Diclofenac eye drops are prescribed for the treatment of non-infectious inflammatory processes (conjunctivitis, keratoconjunctivitis, corneal erosion, inflammation of the conjunctiva and cornea after trauma, photophobia after corneal surgery), for the treatment and prevention of post-traumatic inflammation after eyeball wounds (penetrating and non-penetrating) as an adjunct to antibacterial drugs.
The drug is effective for preventing miosis (narrowing of the pupil) during cataract surgery, as well as in inflammatory processes after surgery, for the prevention and treatment of cystic edema of the central part of the retina (macula) after cataract surgery.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
 During pregnancy, the use of the drug is justified if the potential benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus.
During the use of the drug, breastfeeding should be discontinued.
 Use in children
Contraindicated in children under 2 years of age.
Contraindications
- third trimester of pregnancy;
- children (up to 2 years);
- hypersensitivity to NSAIDs and other components of the drug.
With caution: “aspirin” asthma, epithelial herpetic keratitis (including in the anamnesis); diseases that cause blood clotting disorders (including hemophilia). Special care should be taken in patients with acute peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum, as well as in connection with the risk of bleeding in patients receiving anticoagulants; during pregnancy, lactation, children (older than 2 years), elderly patients.
Side effects
Local reactions are possible immediately after instillation: burning, redness of the eye tissues, impaired visual clarity, pain, swelling, lacrimation, corneal opacity, inflammation of the iris.
Allergic reactions may occur: itching, redness and swelling of the skin and mucous membranes, angioedema of the face, chills, fever, hypersensitivity to light, erythema multiforme, skin rash, nausea, vomiting.
If side effects occur, you should stop taking the drug and consult a doctor.
Interaction
You can use Diclofenac eye drops with antiviral and antibacterial eye drops and ointments, eye corticosteroids – in these cases, the break between the use of various drops should be at least 5 minutes.
How to take, course of use and dosage
The drug is instilled into the conjunctival sac before surgery,1 drop 5 times for 3 hours, immediately after surgery-1 drop 3 times, then-1 drop 3-5 times a day for the time required for treatment.
Dosage regimen for other indications – 1 drop 4-5 times a day.
 The duration of treatment with the drug is no more than 28 days.
 With longer-term treatment, a detailed ophthalmological examination and accurate diagnosis are necessary. As a rule, therapy is extended from one to several weeks.
Overdose
Unlikely if the prescribed dosage is followed.
Special instructions
It is not recommended to wear contact lenses during treatment with the drug. If you can not stop using them, you should remove the lenses at least 5 minutes before instilling drops, and put them on 15 minutes after using the drug.
Diclofenac eye drops affect the ability to engage in activities that require rapid response and increased attention, so you should not drive vehicles or other potentially dangerous equipment during treatment with the drug.
