The active ingredient of the drug is echinacea dry extract obtained from the herb Echinacea purpurea of the aster family (Asteraceae). The main active ingredients of the drug are oxycinnamic acid derivatives (mainly chicory acid) polysaccharides isobutylamides and glycoproteins.
Echinacea stimulates the activity of the cellular and humoral link of the immune system. The drug increases the phagocytic activity of neutrophils and macrophages potentiates the production of interleukin-1 by macrophages induces the transformation of B-lymphocytes into plasma cells increases antibody formation cooperation of B-and T-lymphocytes and T-helper activity.
Indications
Treatment and prevention of diseases accompanied by immunodeficiency conditions, including chronic recurrent inflammatory diseases (chronic bronchitis, pneumonia, ENT diseases) when antibacterial and anti-inflammatory therapy is ineffective or insufficiently effective.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
Do not prescribe the drug during pregnancy and lactation, as the safety of the drug in these situations has not been studied.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug and plants of the asteraceae family; progressive systemic diseases (tuberculosis leukemia collagenosis rheumatism multiple sclerosis autoimmune diseases advanced atherosclerosis); AIDS HIV infection immunosuppression (including cytostatic antitumor therapy; a history of organ or bone marrow transplantation); blood diseases (agranulocytosis leukemia); pregnancy and lactation; age under 18 years of age; lactose intolerance lactase deficiency glucose-galactose malabsorption.
With caution:
Patients with diabetes mellitus.
Side effects

Interaction
It can be used simultaneously with antibiotics and other antimicrobial drugs.

How to take, course of use and dosage
Inside after meals,1-2 tablets 3 times a day.
In the acute phase of the disease, the drug is prescribed in combination with antibacterial therapy,2 tablets 3 times a day for 5 days, then 1 tablet 3 times a day for 10 to 20 days, depending on the nature and severity of the disease.
In the remission phase, the drug is prescribed 1-2 tablets 3 times a day for 10-20 days.
If necessary, the course of treatment can be repeated in 2-3 weeks.
Special instructions
Patients with diabetes should take into account that the carbohydrate content in a single dose of the drug (1 tablet) corresponds to 0018 XE.
Influence on the ability to drive vehicles and mechanisms:
The drug does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and engage in other potentially dangerous activities that require increased concentration of attention and speed of psychomotor reactions.
