Composition

of 1 sup. natamycin 100 mg

Auxiliary substances:

lactulose – 300 mg,

macrogol glycerylhydroxystearate-200 mg,

colloidal silicon dioxide-20 mg,

solid fat (Suppocir AM) – up to 2300 mg

Pharmacological action

Natamycin is an antifungal polyene antibiotic from the macrolide group, which has a wide spectrum of action.

It has a fungicidal effect.

Binds to sterols of cell membranes, disrupting their integrity and function, which leads to the death of microorganisms.

Active against most pathogenic yeast-like fungi (especially Candida albicans), yeast (Torulopsis and Rhodotorula), as well as other pathogenic fungi (Aspergillus, Penicillium).

Less active against dermatophytes (Trichophyton, Microsporum, Epidermophyton).

It does not affect gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria in vitro.

Natamycin resistance is not found in clinical practice.

Indications

Vaginitis, vulvitis, vulvovaginitis caused by fungi of the genus Candida.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

Side effects

When applied topically, mild irritation and burning sensation may occur at the injection site.

Interaction

The drug interaction of Ecofucin® with other medicinal products is not described.

How to take, course of use and dosage

Suppositories, previously released from the contour package, are inserted into the vagina, while lying down, as deep as possible,1 time / day at night.

When candida vaginitis, vulvitis, vulvovaginitis is used intravaginally for 1 supp. for 3-6 days.

In case of persistent vaginitis caused by Candida albicans, natamycin is additionally prescribed in the form of tablets for oral use: 1 tab. 4 times / day for 10-20 days to sanitize the focus of candida infection in the intestine.

The duration of the course of treatment is set individually. After the symptoms of the disease disappear, it is recommended to continue treatment for several more days.

During menstruation, the use of suppositories is interrupted.

Overdose

Currently, no cases of Ecofucin overdose have been reported.

Special instructions

During vaginal application, suppositories turn into a foamy mass under the influence of body temperature, which contributes to the uniform distribution of natamycin throughout the vaginal mucosa.

During the treatment period, there is no need to exclude sexual contacts, but it is recommended to conduct a survey of sexual partners and, in case of candida infection, conduct a course of treatment with natamycin.

During the treatment period, barrier methods of contraception should be used.

Influence on the ability to drive motor vehicles and manage mechanisms

Application of Ecofucin® it does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and mechanisms.

Form of production

Vaginal suppositories are light yellow to light brown in color, torpedo-shaped; there should be no extraneous inclusions on the longitudinal section; an air rod or funnel-shaped depression is allowed.
