Composition

1 tablet contains:

active ingredients:  

ornidazole-500 mg;

neomycin (in the form of sulfate) – 65000 ME;

prednisone (in the form of sodium phosphate) – 3 mg;

econazole (in the form of nitrate) – 100 mg

of excipients:

lactose monohydrate-305.4 mg;

potato starch-90 mg;

colloidal silicon dioxide-12 mg;

povidone (low molecular weight polyvinylpyrrolidone) — 19 mg;

crospovidone-24 mg;

polysorbate 20-3 mg;

calcium stearate-12 mg;

talc-18 mg

Pharmacological action

A drug with antibacterial, antiprotozoal, antifungal and anti-inflammatory effects for topical use in gynecology.

It is effective against Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Staphylococcus aureus, Group B3 Streptococcus, Candida albicans. It has anti-inflammatory, antipruritic and antiexudative effects.

Reduces the formation, release, and activity of inflammatory mediators (histamine, kinin, prostaglandins, and lysosomal enzymes).

Inhibits cell migration to the site of inflammation; reduces vasodilation and increased vascular permeability in the focus of inflammation.

Reduces exudation due to vasoconstrictor action. Helps to quickly reduce burning and itching.

Indications

• bacterial vaginitis caused by banal pyogenic flora;
• vulvovaginal mycoses caused by fungi of the genus Candida;
• vaginitis caused by mixed infection.

Contraindications

• hypersensitivity to any component of the drug;
• children and adolescents under 18 years of age.

Side effects

Local reactions:

rarely-burning sensation, local irritation, vaginal dryness (especially at the beginning of treatment).

In some cases, allergic reactions are possible.

Interaction

Incompatibilities or interactions of the active components of Elzhina with other drugs are not described.

It is recommended to inform the doctor about simultaneous treatment with other medications.

How to take, course of use and dosage

One tablet is administered daily deep into the vagina in the supine position before going to bed.

Before entering the vagina, the tablet should be held in cold boiled water for 20-30 seconds.

After use of the tablet, you should lie down for 10-15 minutes. The average duration of treatment is 6-9 days.

During menstrual bleeding, intravaginally administered according to the usual scheme.

Overdose

Due to the low degree of absorption of the components into the systemic circulation, overdose is unlikely.

Special instructions

In the case of treatment of vaginitis, simultaneous treatment of sexual partners is recommended. Cross-allergization and cross-resistance to aminoglycosides may develop.

The use of the drug for more than 9 days is not recommended.

It does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and mechanisms.
