Pharmacological action

Enzistal has an effect that makes up for the deficiency of pancreatic enzymes.

Normalizes digestion.

Enzistal facilitates the digestion of proteins, fats, carbohydrates, promotes their more complete absorption in the small intestine, has choleretic activity, stimulates the emulsification of fats and the breakdown of plant fiber, increases the activity of lipase, improves the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, K).

Indications

• Insufficiency of exocrine pancreatic function in cystic fibrosis, chronic pancreatitis;
• after pancreatectomy;
• when compression of the pancreatic duct by the tumor;
• steatorrhea in the syndrome of malabsorption;
• condition after gastroektomii dyspepsia in the case of errors in the diet;
• in chronic diseases of the digestive system (especially the elderly) and in patients undergoing long-term bed rest, preparation for x-ray and ultrasound of the abdominal cavity.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, biliary tract obstruction, jaundice.

Side effects

• Nausea,
• spastic abdominal pain,
• diarrhea,
• painful sensations in the oral cavity and in the anal area (in children),
• increased uric acid concentration in the blood and urine,
• allergic reactions (sneezing, lacrimation, urticaria, bronchospasm).

How to take, course of use and dosage

Enzistal is taken orally, without chewing, during or immediately after a meal, with a small amount of liquid.

Adults-1-2 tablets 3 times a day. Higher doses of Enzistal are prescribed by your doctor. Children over 6 years of age (as prescribed by a doctor) — 1 tablet 2-3 times a day.

The duration of treatment can vary from several days (if the digestive process is disrupted due to dietary errors) to several months or years (if permanent replacement therapy is required).

Before X-ray examination or ultrasound — 2 tablets 2-3 times a day for 2-3 days before the study.
