Composition

1 ml (25 drops) of the drug contains:

Active ingredient: simethicone – 100,00 mg

Auxiliary substances: macrogol stearate 40, glyceryl monostearate 40-55, carbomer, banana flavor, potassium acesulfame, sorbitol liquid (non-crystallizing), sodium chloride, sodium citrate, sodium hydroxide, sorbic acid, purified water.

Active ingredient simethicone, reduces the amount of gases in the gastrointestinal tract (GIT): it has surfactant properties and the ability to reduce surface tension at the interface of liquid/gas media, which contributes to the fusion of gas bubbles and the destruction of foam in the intestine, as a result of which the released gas is absorbed or excreted naturally under the influence of intestinal motility. The use of simentikon in preparation for conducting diagnostic studies of the abdominal organs is aimed at preventing the appearance of image defects caused by gas bubbles.

Pharmacokinetics

Simethicone is chemically inert, is not absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract after oral use and acts only in its lumen. It does not interact with microorganisms and enzymes and does not affect the digestive processes. It is excreted unchanged by the intestines.

Indications

• symptoms of intestinal colic in infants;
• symptoms of excessive formation and accumulation of gases in the digestive tract (including bloating, flatulence in the postoperative period);
• symptoms of excess gas formation caused by functional dyspepsia;
• preparation for diagnostic studies of the abdomen and pelvis (ultrasound, radiography, esophagogastroduodenoscopy, etc. ), including, as a Supplement to the suspensions of contrast media to obtain an image by double contrast;
• acute poisoning with detergents containing blowing agent (detergents), as a defoamer.

Use during pregnancy and lactation

Since simethicone is not absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract, no non-aggressive effect is expected when using the drug during pregnancy and lactation. However, as with all other medications, the drug should be administered with caution during pregnancy and lactation.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, intestinal obstruction, hereditary fructose intolerance.

Side effects

No side effects have been observed with Espumizan baby. It is possible to develop allergic reactions to the components of the drug. Interaction

No clinically significant interaction of simethicone with other medicinal products has been established.

How to take, course of use and dosage

Inside. Shake the bottle with the emulsion before use. The drug is dosed in drops, holding the bottle vertically with the hole down. For convenience, you can also dose in milliliters using the measuring cap.

25 drops are equivalent to 1 ml (or 100 mg of simethicone).

The drug is taken before/during or after each meal and, if necessary, before bedtime.

The frequency of use and duration of use depend on the severity of symptoms. If necessary, the drug Espumizan ® baby can be taken for a long time.

The drug Espumizan ® baby after surgery should be taken under the supervision of a doctor.

For complaints related to children colic and excessive gas formationChildren under 1 year of age: 5-10 drops of Espumizan® baby (added to a bottle of baby food or given with a small spoon before / during or after feeding). Children from 1 year to 6 years: 10 drops of Espumizan® baby 3-5 times a day. Children from 6 to 14 years: 10-20 drops of Espumizan® baby 3-5 times a day. Children from 14 and adults: 20 drops of Espumizan® baby 3-5 times a day.

When preparing for diagnostic tests (radiography, ultrasound, etc. )Apply 1 ml of Espumizan ® baby 3 times a day after meals the day before the study and 1 ml of Espumizan® baby in the morning on the day of the study.

To get a double contrast imageAdd 2-4 ml of Espumizan® baby per 1 liter of contrast suspension.

If symptoms from the gastrointestinal tract persist for a long time (more than 14 days of therapy) or new symptoms occur, it is necessary to conduct a medical examination.

Espumizan baby contains sorbitol (sorbitol), so its use in patients with hereditary fructose intolerance is contraindicated. Information for patients with diabetes mellitus: 1 ml of the emulsion (25 drops) contains 199.17 mg of sorbitol, which corresponds to 0.017 bread units (XE).

Effect of the drug on the ability to drive vehicles, mechanisms

The use of the drug does not affect the ability to perform potentially dangerous activities that require increased concentration of attention and speed of psychomotor reactions (driving vehicles, working with moving mechanisms, working as a dispatcher, operator).
