Composition
5 ml of the solution contains: Active ingredient: phosphatidylcholine from dried soybeans, containing 93% (3-sn-phosphatidyl) choline: synonyms – “essential phospholipids”, “EPL®” – 250 mg. Other ingredients: benzyl alcohol-45 mg, deoxycholic acid -115 mg, sodium chloride-12 mg, sodium hydroxide-11.5 mg, riboflavin-0.5 mg, alpha-tocopherol-0.75 mg, ethanol-16.304 mg, water for injection-4543.680 mg
Pharmacological action
The drug provides the liver, whose metabolic activity is impaired, with a high dose of ready-to-digest, high-energy “essential phospholipids”. These “essential phospholipids” are ideally combined with natural endogenous phospholipids in chemical structure. They mainly penetrate the liver cells, embedding themselves in their membranes.
“Essential phospholipids”:
- normalize liver function and enzyme activity of liver cells;
- reduce the level of energy consumption of the liver;
- promote the regeneration of liver cells;
- convert neutral fats and cholesterol into forms that facilitate their metabolism;
- stabilize the physical and chemical properties of bile.
Indications
Fatty liver degeneration (including diabetes mellitus); acute and chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis of the liver, necrosis of liver cells, hepatic coma and precoma, toxic liver damage; toxicosis of pregnancy; pre-and postoperative treatment, especially during operations in the hepatobiliary zone; psoriasis; radiation syndrome.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients of Essentiale H; children under 3 years of age.
Caution: pregnancy, due to the presence of benzyl alcohol in the composition of the drug, which can penetrate the placental barrier (the use of drugs containing benzyl alcohol in premature newborns or premature newborns has been associated with the development of dyspnea syndrome with a fatal outcome).
Side effects
From the immune system: rarely-due to the content of benzyl alcohol in the preparation, hypersensitivity reactions may develop;
very rarely-allergic skin reactions (rash, exanthema or urticaria) are possible;
unknown frequency-pruritus.
