Pharmacological action
Pharmaceutical group:
local irritant.
Pharmaceutical action: Â
Nonivamide:
It is a synthetic analogue of capsaicin and has analgesic properties that are manifested as a result of the gradual penetration of the substance into peripheral nociceptive C-fibers and A-delta nerve fibers when the drug is repeatedly applied to the skin.
Nicoboxyl:
It has a direct vasodilating effect.
Combined action:
Nonivamide and nicoboxyl have complementary vasodilating properties, cause skin hyperemia, increase the rate of enzymatic reactions, and activate metabolism.
The appearance of redness and an increase in skin temperature within a few minutes after application indicate rapid penetration of the active components of the drug into the skin. The effect of Finalgon® is local.
The effect of the drug develops within a few minutes, the maximum effect occurs in 20-30 minutes.

How to take, course of use and dosage
Treatment should begin with applying a small amount of the drug to a small area of the skin to assess the individual response. Individual reactions to the drug may differ significantly: some people will only need to apply a small amount of ointment in order to cause the necessary warming effect.
Using the attached applicator, a column of the drug with a size of no more than 0.5 cm is applied to the corresponding area of the skin the size of a palm with light rubbing movements. To enhance the therapeutic effect, the skin area on which the drug is applied can be covered with a woolen cloth.
With repeated use, the reaction to the ointment may decrease, which requires an increase in the dose, which is selected individually.
If necessary, the ointment is used 2-3 times / day.
To pre-warm up the muscles before physical exercises, sports competitions, it is recommended to rub in about 30 minutes before they start.
The patient should be warned that if there is no desired effect within 10 days, you should consult a doctor.
After applying the drug to the skin, wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water.
Overdose
Symptoms: the effect of hyperemia of the skin and the severity of dose-dependent side effects may be aggravated after applying an excessive amount of Finalgon ® ointment. The use of excessive amounts of the drug can lead to the appearance of vesicles or pustules at the site of application of the ointment.
Overdose with the drug can cause systemic reactions (redness of the upper body, increased body temperature, “hot flashes” of blood, painful flushing, decreased blood pressure), because nicotinic acid esters have good transdermal absorption.
Treatment: when using an excessive amount of the drug, the effect can be reduced if you remove the ointment from the skin surface with vegetable oil or a fat-based cosmetic cream, from the eye mucosa (in case of accidental contact) – with medical vaseline. If necessary, symptomatic treatment should be performed.
Special instructions
The drug causes hyperemia of the skin, resulting in redness, a feeling of warmth, itching and burning at the site of application. These symptoms may be more pronounced when applying an excessive amount of the drug or in the case of intensive rubbing on the surface of the skin. The use of excessive amounts of the product or intensive rubbing on the skin surface can lead to the appearance of vesicles or pustules at the site of application of the ointment.
After using Finalgon®, wash your hands immediately with soap and water.
Care must be taken to avoid accidental contact of the drug with other areas of the skin or contact of the drug with another person.
Avoid accidental contact with the face, eyes, nose or mouth. This can lead to temporary facial swelling, facial pain, conjunctival inflammation, eye congestion, burning eyes, visual impairment, oral discomfort, and stomatitis.
Do not take a hot bath or shower before or after applying the product to the skin.
Perspiration or the application of heat to the site of application of the drug can cause redness of the skin and an intense feeling of warmth even a few hours after applying Finalgon.
The drug contains sorbic acid, which can cause local skin irritation (for example, contact dermatitis).
Influence on the ability to drive vehicles and other mechanisms that require increased concentration of attention
Special clinical studies of the effect of the drug on the ability to drive a car and mechanisms have not been conducted. However, during the use of the drug when driving a car and working with mechanisms, caution should be exercised.
