Composition

100 g of ointment contains:

Active ingredient – furatsilin 0,2 g;

auxiliary substance – vaseline up to 100 g.

Pharmacological action

Furacilin ointment is an antimicrobial agent derived from nitrofuran.

Active against gram-positive bacteria: Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Bacillus anthracis; gram-negative bacteria: Escherichia coli, Shigella spp., Salmonella spp. (including Salmonella paratyphi).

Indications

• Purulent wounds,
• bedsores,
• ulcers,
• burns of II and III degrees,
• osteomyelitis,
• pleural empyema,
• anaerobic infection of the wound surface,
• furuncle of the external auditory canal,
• empyema of the paranasal sinuses.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, bleeding, allergodermatosis.

Side effects

Allergic reactions. When applied externally-dermatitis.

How to take, course of use and dosage

Externally. The ointment is applied in a thin layer on the affected areas of the skin 2-3 times a day. The course of treatment is 7-10 days.
