Composition

One chewable tablet contains: active ingredients:  sodium alginate 250 mg, sodium bicarbonate of 106.5 mg, calcium carbonate 187,5 mg;auxiliary substances: mannitol 598,799 mg, macrogol-20000 30 mg copovidon of 33.75 mg, Acesulfame potassium 5,863 mg, aspartame 5,863 mg, dye azorubin (11012) 0.375 mg, mint flavor of 18.75 mg, xylitol (DC) 100 mg, magnesium stearate 6,75-12,6 mg.

Pharmacological action

Gaviscon ® Double action effectively relieves both heartburn and heaviness in the stomach: 1) quickly neutralizes excess stomach acid; 2) enters the stomach and interacts with its contents, forming a protective barrier (raft) that prevents the occurrence of heartburn. Mild relief from heartburn and heaviness in the stomach. Quickly relieves heartburn. It works for a long time. Suitable for use during pregnancy. Pleasant mint flavor.

Indications

Treatment of symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux, such as acid belching, heartburn, dyspepsia (digestive disorders, feeling of heaviness in the stomach) that occur after eating, in patients with high acidity of gastric juice or during pregnancy.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to any of the components of the drug; phenylketonuria; moderate to severe renal failure; children under 12 years of age. With caution: If you have the following diseases or conditions, you should consult your doctor before using the drug: hypercalcemia, nephrocalcinosis and urolithiasis with the formation of calcium-oxalate stones (see the section “Special instructions”); congestive heart failure (see the section “Special instructions”); mild renal failure (see the section “Special Instructions”).

Side effects

The frequency of adverse reactions is estimated based on the following criteria: very common (≥ 1/10), common (≥ 1/100, < 1/10), uncommon (≥ 1/1000, < 1/100), rare (≥ 1/10000, < 1/1000), very rare (Immune system disorders: unknown frequency – anaphylactic and anaphylactoid reactions, hypersensitivity reactions (urticaria). Respiratory, thoracic and mediastinal disorders: unknown frequency – respiratory effects (bronchospasm). If any of the side effects listed in the instructions get worse, or you notice other side effects that are not listed in the instructions, tell your doctor.

Interaction

Since calcium carbonate, which is part of the drug, shows antacid activity, it should take at least 2 hours between taking Gaviscon® Double Action and other drugs, especially when taken simultaneously with H2-histamine receptor blockers, tetracycline antibiotics, digoxin, fluoroquinolone, iron salts, ketoconazole, neuroleptics, thyroid hormones, levothyroxine sodium, penicillamine, beta-blockers (atenolol, metoprolol, propranolol), glucocorticosteroids, chloroquine, bisphosphonates and estramustine.

How to take, course of use and dosage

Inside, after careful chewing. Adults and children over 12 years of age: 2-4 tablets after meals and before bedtime (up to 4 times a day). The maximum daily dose is 16 tablets. No dose adjustment is required in elderly patients.

Overdose

Symptoms: bloating may occur.

Treatment: symptomatic.

Storage conditions

At a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children.
