Pharmacological action
Biologically active substances of ginkgo biloba leaf extract help to strengthen and increase the elasticity of the vascular wall, improve the rheological properties of blood and, as a result, improve microcirculation, supply the brain and peripheral tissues with oxygen and glucose. The drug improves cerebral blood circulation, has cerebroprotective properties.
Reduces the permeability of the vascular wall (decongestant effect-both at the level of the brain and at the periphery). The drug normalizes metabolism in cells, prevents aggregation of red blood cells, inhibits platelet activation factor.
Prevents an increase in the fibrinolytic activity of the blood. Prevents the formation of free radicals and lipid peroxidation of cell membranes.
It has a dose-dependent regulating effect on the vascular system, dilates small arteries, increases the tone of veins, regulates blood filling of blood vessels.
The drug increases the body’s resistance to hypoxia, especially brain tissue, and inhibits the development of traumatic or toxic brain edema.
Indications
Dyscirculatory encephalopathy (stroke, traumatic brain injury, old age), manifested by the following symptoms: decreased attention, memory loss, decreased intellectual abilities, anxiety, dizziness, tinnitus, sleep disorders.
Disorders of peripheral blood circulation and microcirculation (including arteriopathy of the lower extremities), Raynaud’s syndrome; Sensorineural disorders, manifested by dizziness, ringing in the ears, unstable gait.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to ginkgo leaf extract and other components of the drug, hypocoagulation, acute gastric and duodenal ulcers, erosive gastritis, pregnancy, lactation, children (up to 12 years), acute cerebrovascular accident, acute myocardial infarction.
With caution – hypotension.
How to take, course of use and dosage
If the doctor has not recommended a different dosage regimen, follow the following recommendations for taking the drug. For the symptomatic treatment of cerebral circulatory disorders,1-2 tablets 3 times a day. The duration of treatment is at least 8 weeks.
In case of peripheral circulatory disorders, Take 1 tablet 3 times a day. The duration of treatment is 6-8 weeks. For sensorineural disorders, Take 1 tablet 3 times a day.
The duration of treatment is 6-8 weeks. Repeated courses of treatment are possible after consulting a doctor. Film-coated tablets should be taken orally, without chewing, with a small amount of water.
The drug should be taken in the morning, afternoon and evening, regardless of food intake.
If the drug was missed or an insufficient amount was taken, its subsequent use should be carried out as indicated in these instructions without any changes.
Overdose
Currently, no overdose cases have been reported.
Interaction with other medicinal products The use of Ginkgo biloba leaf extract is not recommended for patients who are constantly taking acetylsalicylic acid and anticoagulants.
Special instructions
Do not exceed the recommended dose of the drug. Improvement of the condition usually occurs 1 month after the start of treatment.
If you experience sudden hearing loss or loss of hearing, you should seek immediate medical attention.
A doctor’s consultation is also necessary for frequent dizziness and tinnitus.
