Composition
10 g contains glyciphone 3 gvspomogatelnye substances: Â vaseline medical; lanolin anhydrous in cans or aluminum tubes of 10 g.
Pharmacological action
Glyciphon ointment has a local effect on tumors and precancerous skin diseases. Selectively inhibits metabolism in blastomatous cells, which is explained by the antimitotic effect, especially expressed in the acidic environment of the tumor tissue. It also has antimicrobial activity.
Indications
- squamous cell carcinoma of the skin stage I;
- basal cell carcinoma (including recurrent tumors after surgery and radiation therapy);
- Bowen’s disease;
- senile keratosis.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, pregnancy, breastfeeding, childhood. With caution: Apply the product with caution to areas of the skin located near the periorbital area. Avoid contact with eyes.
Side effects
Edema of the periorbital region, hyperemia, edema (in these cases, the treatment takes a break for 2-3 days and prescribes lotions with a solution of nitrofural or ointment with corticosteroids, after the break, treatment is continued); pain at the site of application (to reduce pain, you can simultaneously apply 5-10% ointment with benzocaine to the focus).
Interaction
Drug interaction of the drug Glyciphon ointment 30% is not described.
How to take, course of use and dosage
Locally. On the skin in the area of tumor growth or keratosis, previously wiped with a swab with alcohol, apply 0.8-2.0 g of ointment (depending on the size of the focus), cover with a gauze napkin and fix it with a Band-aid. At each dressing, the focus and surrounding skin are wiped with alcohol, and the necrotic tissue is removed. Applications are carried out daily,1 time a day until the complete destruction of the tumor tissue. The duration of treatment is determined by the location and size of the lesion. In the treatment of recurrent tumors, small-nodular basalomas in the forehead and nose,15-20 applications are made, in ulcerative forms, in superficial basalomas and Bowen’s disease-10-15, in senile keratoses — 5-10 applications. After completing the course, bandages (aseptic or with antiseptic ointments) are applied daily to the resulting defect until complete scarring.
