Characteristics

Hawthorn fruit contains flavonoids, organic acids, fatty oils, pectins, sugars, vitamins and other biologically active substances.

Pharmacological action

Hawthorn fruit infusion has cardiotonic, antispasmodic and moderate sedative effects, shows hypotensive properties, normalizes blood clotting parameters.

Indications

In the complex therapy of functional disorders of cardiovascular activity (neurocirculatory dystonia, cardialgia).

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the drug, pregnancy (1 trimester), childhood (up to 12 years).

Side effects

Possible allergic reactions. With prolonged use of the drug in large doses, drowsiness, decreased blood pressure, and bradycardia are possible.

Interaction

When combined with cardiac glycosides, the cardiotonic effect increases; with beta-blockers, the hypotensive effect may increase.

How to take, course of use and dosage

2 filter bags (3.0 g) are placed in a glass or enamel dish, pour 100 ml (1/2 cup) of boiling water, cover and insist for 30 minutes, squeeze the filter bags. The volume of the resulting infusion is brought with boiled water to 100 ml.

Take inside 1/2 cup 2-3 times a day 30 minutes before meals. The course of treatment is 20-30 days. It is recommended to shake the infusion before use.

Description

A mixture of pieces of crushed hawthorn fruit of yellowish-brown, yellowish-orange, brownish-red, dark brownish color with black and brown flecks, sometimes with a whitish-gray coating. There is no smell. The taste of water extraction is sweet.

Storage conditions

Store in a dry place, protected from light. The finished infusion should be stored in a cool place for no more than 2 days. Keep out of reach of children.
