Composition

Pharmacological action

Hepa-Merc – hepatoprotective.

Pharmacodynamics

It participates in the Ornithine cycle of Krebs urea formation (biosynthesis of urea from ammonia). Promotes the production of insulin and GH. Improves detoxification function of the liver, reduces elevated levels of ammonia in plasma. Improves protein metabolism in diseases requiring parenteral nutrition.

Pharmacokinetics

It dissociates into Ornithine and aspartate, which are absorbed in the small intestine by active transport through the intestinal epithelium. It is excreted in the urine through the urea cycle.

Indications

Acute and chronic liver diseases accompanied by hyperammonemia. Hepatic encephalopathy (latent and severe). Steatosis and steatohepatitis (various origins).

Contraindications

Severe renal impairment (plasma creatinine level 3 mg / 100 ml).

Side effects

Rarely-skin reactions, in some cases-nausea, vomiting.

How to take, course of use and dosage

Inside, after meals,1 sachet of granulate, previously dissolved in 200 ml of liquid,2-3 times a day.
