Composition

5 ml of syrup contains:

2 Ascorbic acid 65.00 mg

Excipients: sucrose, methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218), orange flavor oil

Purified water (extractant)

265.00 mg of ascorbic acid in the form of 73.12 mg of sodium ascorbate.

Clinical pharmacology

The drug has an expectorant, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial (bacteriostatic) effect.

Indications

The drug is used in the complex therapy of inflammatory diseases of the upper respiratory tract, accompanied by dry cough; as well as for dry cough of smokers.

Use during pregnancy and lactation

It is contraindicated for pregnant and lactating women to take Herbion® psyllium syrup (due to insufficient data on the safety of the drug in this group of patients).

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, diabetes mellitus, congenital fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome, sucrose-isomaltase deficiency, children under 2 years of age.

Side effects

Possible allergic reactions. In case of side effects, you should stop taking the drug and consult a doctor.

Interaction

Herbion ® psyllium syrup should not be used simultaneously with antitussive drugs and drugs that reduce the formation of sputum, as this makes it difficult to cough up liquefied sputum.

How to take, course of use and dosage

Inside, the drug is recommended to be taken with a sufficient amount of tea or warm water.

Shake thoroughly before use!

The duration of the course of therapy is 2-3 weeks. It is possible to increase the duration or repeat the course of therapy after consulting a doctor.

Overdose

So far, no overdose cases have been reported.

Description

The syrup is brown to reddish-brown in color with a characteristic smell. Minor opalescence is allowed.

Special instructions

Contraindicated in children under 2 years of age.

It is contraindicated in patients with diabetes mellitus, congenital fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome, sucrose-isomaltase insufficiency.

1 scoop of syrup (5 ml) contains 4 g of sucrose. If the recommendations for the use of the drug specified in the instructions are followed, the patient receives from 4 g (1 measuring spoon) (corresponds to 0.4 bread units (XE)) to 8 g (2 measuring spoons) (corresponds to 0.8 XE) of sucrose.

The use of Herbion ® plantain syrup does not affect the ability to perform potentially dangerous activities that require increased concentration of attention and speed of psychomotor reactions (driving vehicles, working with moving mechanisms, working as a dispatcher, operator).

Form of production

Syrup.

150 ml of syrup in a dark glass bottle (type III), sealed with a plastic stopper with a liquid divider and a plastic lid with first opening control.

Each bottle is placed in a cardboard pack together with a dosing plastic spoon and instructions for use.

Storage conditions

At a temperature not exceeding 25 ° C, in the original packaging.

Do not store in the refrigerator.
