Composition

Medical concentrated hydrogen peroxide – from 75 to 110 g (depending on the actual content of hydrogen peroxide in the initial preparation)Sodium benzoate-0.5 g of purified water-up to 1000 ml

Pharmacological action

Antiseptic agent and groups of oxidants, has a hemostatic effect. When hydrogen peroxide comes into contact with damaged skin and mucous membranes, active oxygen is released, while mechanical purification and inactivation of organic substances (proteins, blood, pus) occur. The antiseptic effect of the drug is not sterilizing, when it is used, only a temporary decrease in the number of microorganisms occurs.

Indications

Treatment of purulent and bleeding wounds; stopping capillary bleeding, etc. For washing and rinsing with stomatitis, sore throats, gynecological diseases.

Contraindications

Increased individual sensitivity.

Side effects

Possible burning sensation during wound treatment, in rare cases allergic reactions.

How to take, course of use and dosage

Damaged areas of the skin and mucous membrane are treated with a cotton or gauze swab moistened with a solution of hydrogen peroxide; contaminated wounds, ulcers are treated with a jet. For the treatment of mucous membranes in the form of rinses and rinses, when rinsing the mouth and throat, the drug is diluted with water to a concentration of 0.2-0.3% (1 tablespoon per glass of water).

Special instructions

It is not recommended to use the drug for dressings. The drug should not be administered in cavities. Avoid contact with eyes (in case of contact, rinse thoroughly with water). The drug is unstable in an alkaline environment, in the presence of alkali metals, complex radicals, some oxidants, as well as in light and heat. A 3% solution is used internally as an antidote (in combination with a 3% acetic acid solution) for potassium permanganate poisoning.
