Pharmacological action

Hydroperite belongs to the group of antiseptic oxidizing agents and is a complex compound of hydrogen peroxide with urea.

When hydroperite interacts with such body enzymes as catalase and peroxidase, oxygen is released, which exhibits hemostatic and antimicrobial effects, so the drug can be used instead of a ready-made solution of hydrogen peroxide.

When it is used, only a temporary decrease in the number of microorganisms occurs, so it is impractical to use the drug as a means of sterilization.

Indications

Hydroperit in the form of an aqueous solution is used for washing and rinsing with stomatitis, sore throats, gynecological diseases, as well as for washing small surface wounds, capillary bleeding from surface wounds, and nosebleeds.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the drug Hydroperit.

Side effects

Possible burning sensation at the time of wound treatment; in some cases – allergic reactions.

With prolonged use of hydroperitol for rinsing the oral cavity, hypertrophy of the papillae of the tongue develops.

How to take, course of use and dosage

To obtain a solution (for the purpose of washing wounds) corresponding to approximately 1% hydrogen peroxide solution,2 tablets are dissolved in 100 ml of boiled water.

To rinse the mouth and throat,1 tablet is dissolved in a glass of water (corresponding to 0.25% hydrogen peroxide solution).

Special instructions

Do not apply under occlusive dressings. Hydroperite solutions should not be injected into deep wounds and cavities.

The aqueous solution of the drug is unstable in an alkaline environment, in the presence of metal salts, complex radicals of some oxidants, as well as in light and heat.
