Composition

indolcarbinol 0.2 g

Auxiliary substances:  

lactose monohydrate (milk sugar) – 0.14 g,

modified corn starch – 0.095 g,

microcrystalline cellulose – 0.064 g,

magnesium stearate – 0.001 g.

Pharmacological action

Selective modulator of estrogen receptors.

Indinol Forto is a universal corrector of pathological hyperplastic processes in breast tissues. The therapeutic effect of Indinol Vorto is based on its anti-estrogenic and antiproliferative effects.

The main property of the drug Indinol Vorto is its ability to cause selective death of breast cells with abnormally high proliferative activity.

Indolcarbinol, which is part of the drug Indinol Forto, modulates the cytochrome system in such a way that the resulting isoform of cytochrome P450 – CYP1A1 hydroxylates estrogens in the 2nd position, with the formation of 2-hydroxyestrone (2-ONE 1).

The resulting metabolite is an antagonist of the estrogen receptor and blocks its activation by estrogens themselves, as well as their dangerous metabolites, in particular,16-α-hydroxyestron (16α-ONE 1), whose share among the metabolites decreases.

In this way, the induction of estrogen-dependent genes is suppressed, and the cell stops receiving excessive estrogen-dependent stimulation. The drug also blocks other signaling mechanisms (cytokines) that stimulate abnormal cell growth in breast tissues by suppressing signaling cascades from the corresponding receptors.

Course application of the drug helps to reduce the intensity and disappearance of pain in the mammary gland in cyclic mastalgia (mastodynia).

The use of Indinol Vorto does not lead to an increase in body weight. Indinol Vorto is a practically non-toxic drug (LD50>5 g / kg).

Indications

Cyclic mastalgia, including on the background of benign breast hyperplasia.

Use during pregnancy and lactation

The use of Indinol®is contraindicated Vorto during pregnancy and lactation.

Contraindications

The drug should not be used in the presence of any of the following conditions:

• hypersensitivity to the components of the drug;
• hereditary galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption;
• pregnancy and lactation;
• children under 18 years of age.

Side effects

From the reproductive system: menstrual cycle disorders in the form of lengthening or shortening.

From the digestive system: epigastric pain.

Laboratory parameters: increased concentration of thyroid-stimulating and follicle-stimulating hormones, prolactin and estradiol, decreased creatinine concentration, eosinophilia.

Other: weight loss. If any of the side effects listed in the instructions get worse, or you notice any other side effects not listed in the instructions, tell your doctor.

Interaction

Indolcarbinol affects the activity of cytochrome P450 isoenzymes, so caution should be exercised when co-administered with drugs whose metabolism involves cytochrome P450 isoenzymes (indirect anticoagulants, glucocorticosteroids, oral hypoglycemic agents, antiarrhythmic, antiepileptic, digitalis preparations, sex hormone preparations), as their dose adjustment may be required.

How to take, course of use and dosage

Inside,2 times a day for 200 mg. The daily dose of the drug is 400 mg.

Capsules are taken before meals.

The duration of treatment is 6 months.

Overdose

Symptoms: Possible overdose symptoms include nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.

Treatment: No specific antidote is known.

If an overdose of Indinol® Vorto is suspected, symptomatic therapy is recommended.

Influence on the ability to drive vehicles and other mechanisms that require increased concentration of attention

Based on the pharmacodynamic characteristics and the profile of undesirable effects, it is unlikely that Indinol® Vorto affects the ability to drive vehicles and work with machinery.
