Indications
Local anesthesia in ophthalmology:
- diagnostic scraping of the conjunctiva;
- extraction of foreign bodies and sutures from the cornea and conjunctiva;
- measurement of intraocular pressure (tonometry);
- gonioscopy;
- short-term surgical interventions on the cornea and conjunctiva.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
Clinical research on the use of the drug during pregnancy and lactation is not enough.
The use of Inocaine during pregnancy and lactation is possible only in cases where the expected benefit of therapy exceeds the potential risk to the fetus or infant.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
Side effects

- keratitis (rare).
- burning and hyperemia of the conjunctiva;
- allergic reactions.
Interaction
The positive or negative effects of simultaneous use of oxybuprocaine and other traditionally used eye drops into the conjunctival sac are not described.
It is noted that oxybuprocaine can theoretically reduce the antibacterial activity of sulfonamides.
How to take, course of use and dosage
Topically, instill 1 drop into the conjunctival sac.
Long-term anesthesia (up to 1 hour) is provided by a three-time instillation of Inocaine with an interval of 4-5 minutes.
Special instructions
Apply only for instillation in the conjunctival sac. It should not be used for injection.
Prolonged, repeated and prolonged use (as with other local anesthetics) can lead to stable corneal opacities.
It is not intended for long-term therapy in the complex treatment of eye diseases.
During anesthesia, it is necessary to protect the eye from irritating chemical influences, foreign bodies and friction.
