Composition
Active ingredients:
lidocaine hydrochloride monohydrate 2 g;
chlorhexidine bigluconate 0.05 g;
methyl-4-hydroxybenzoate 0.06 g;
propyl-4-hydroxybenzoate 0.025 g
Pharmacological action
A combined drug that has antimicrobial and local anesthetic effects.
Chlorhexidine is an antimicrobial agent that acts on gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms, yeast, and dermatophytes.
It is effective against gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria-Treponema spp., Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Trichomonas spp., Chlamydia spp., Ureaplasma spp.
It remains active (although somewhat reduced) in the presence of blood, pus, various secretions and organic substances.
Lidocaine is a local anesthetic.
Antimicrobial action and adequate anesthesia develop 5-10 minutes after the drug is applied.
The water-soluble transparent gel provides a clear optical view during various endoscopic procedures.
Indications
Surgical and diagnostic interventions in children and adults in urology, gynecology, proctology:
- all forms of endoscopy;
- replacement of fistula catheters;
- intubation and mechanical ventilation.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
In the first trimester of pregnancy, only if absolutely necessary.
If used during lactation, you should refrain from breast-feeding the baby for 12 hours after using the drug.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity, including to alkyl-4-hydroxybenzoates.
Side effects
- collapse,
- bradycardia,
- convulsions.
Interaction
Avoid co-use with iodine preparations.
MAO inhibitors enhance the local anaesthetic effect of lidocaine.
Incompatible with soaps and detergents containing anionic group (saponins, sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium carboxymethylcellulose).
Compatible with medicinal products containing a cationic group (benzalkonium chloride)
How to take, course of use and dosage
Externally.
Probing and catheterization: Â after the initial treatment of the external genitalia,6-11 ml of gel is injected into the urethra.
Cystoscopy: Â 6-11 ml of gel is injected into the urethra, including the external sphincter, and repeated if necessary.
Overdose
Symptoms: With severe damage to the urethra, side effects associated with the systemic action of ledocaine may develop ((with the systemic action of lidocaine (bradycardia, convulsions, collapse); with improper use of the drug, orthostatic hypertension of central genesis is possible.
Treatment: for bradycardia – beta-adrenostimulants, for convulsions-barbiturates or short-acting muscle relaxants, for collapse-epinephrine or dopamine iv.
