Pharmacological action

Intesti bacteriophage liquid causes specific lysis of bacteria Shigella flexneri 1,2,3,4,6 serovariants, Shigella sonnei, Salmonella paratyphi A, Salmonella paratyphi In, Salmonella typhymurium, Salmonella infantis, Salmonella choleraesuis, Salmonella oranienburg, Salmonella enteritidis, Escherichia coli, Proteus vulgaris, Proteus mirabilis, Enterococcus, Staphylococcus, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

Indications

Infections of the gastrointestinal tract (dysentery, salmonellosis, typhoid, paratyphoid), dysbacteriosis.

Use during pregnancy and lactation

The use of this medicinal product during pregnancy and lactation is possible in the presence of infections caused by phage-sensitive bacterial strains (on the recommendation of a doctor).

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

Side effects

In children of the first months of life, regurgitation and skin rashes are possible in the first 2 days of taking the drug.

Interaction

The drug can be used in combination with other medications, including antibiotics.

How to take, course of use and dosage

Inside, from the first day of the disease for 5-6 days in the following doses:  children under three years of age — from 3 to 5 ml per reception; older than three years and adults — 5-10 ml per reception 3-4 times a day.

If a complete cure has not occurred within the specified period, you can continue taking it for another 2-3 days.

Overdose

Symptoms of overdose have not been established.

Special instructions

In case of turbidity, do not use the drug!

Due to the content of a nutrient medium in the preparation, in which bacteria from the environment can develop, causing turbidity of the drug, it is necessary to observe the following rules when opening the bottle: :

• Wash your hands thoroughly.
• Treat the cap with an alcohol-containing solution.
• Remove the cap without opening the stopper.
• Do not place the cork inside on the table or other objects.
• Do not leave the bottle open.
• Store the opened bottle only in the refrigerator.

When using small doses (2-8 drops), the drug should be selected with a sterile syringe in a volume of 0.5-1 ml.

The drug from the opened bottle, subject to the storage conditions, the above rules and the absence of turbidity, can be used during the entire shelf life.
