Yodantipirin is used for the treatment and prevention of tick-borne encephalitis in adults, for the complex treatment of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome.
Individual intolerance to Iodantipirine and other iodine-containing drugs, hyperthyroidism, severe liver and kidney dysfunction, pregnancy and lactation, childhood.

Pharmacodynamics . Yodantipyrin has anti-inflammatory, immunostimulating and interferogenic properties. It stabilizes biological membranes and delays the entry of the virus into the cell. It is an active inducer of alpha and beta interferon, stimulates cellular and humoral immunity. Active against tick-borne encephalitis virus, hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome.
Pharmacokinetics. Rapidly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, bioavailability is 80%. Up to 95% is metabolized in the liver. Urinary excretion through the kidneys by active transport to the renal tubules: 3-5% unchanged,80-90%) – inactive metabolites. It has a high affinity for tissue proteins. Binding to blood proteins is 25%. The elimination half-life is about 6 hours.

The drug is low-toxic and well-tolerated. In some cases, dyspeptic phenomena, skin rash, pruritus, angioedema, and other allergic reactions are possible. When you stop taking the drug, these phenomena disappear.
Antacids and H2 receptor antagonists reduce the absorption of the drug. When co-administered with oral hypoglycemic drugs, barbiturates, tricyclic antidepressants, and indirect anticoagulants, Yodantipirin enhances their effect, displacing them from protein binding.
Yodantipirin tablets are taken orally after meals. Prevention and treatment of tick-borne encephalitis. Treatment: 300 mg (3 tablets) – 3 times a day for the first 2 days; 200 mg (2 tablets)-3 times a day for the next 2 days; 100 mg (1 tablet)-3 times a day for the next 5 days. Prevention:
Treatment of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS). The drug should be prescribed within five days of the onset of the disease. 200 mg (2 tablets) 3 times a day for the first four days;100 mg (1 tablet) 3 times a day for the next five days.
Tablets are white in color, odorless or with a weak specific smell, flat-cylindrical, with a chamfer.
In the treatment and prevention of tick-borne encephalitis, the combined use of Iodantipyrin and anti-tick immunoglobulin is not recommended. In case of focal forms of tick-borne encephalitis, a specific immunoglobulin is first prescribed according to the usual scheme and after 2-3 days, Yodantipirin is prescribed in the indicated dosages.
Tablets of 100 mg. 10 tablets in a contour cell or cell-free package. 1,2 or 5 contour packages together with the instructions for use in a cardboard pack. 50 tablets each in a polymer jar. Each jar together with the instructions for use in a pack of cardboard. 1000 contour cell-free packages together with instructions for use in a corrugated cardboard box (for hospitals).
Store in a dry place, protected from light, at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C. Keep out of reach of children.
