Composition

1 suppository contains:

Active ingredient:  povidone-iodine (iodovidone) (with a content of at least 10% free iodine in terms of dry matter) 0.20 g;

excipients: macrogol-400 (polyethylene oxide-400) 0.17 g, macrogol-4000 (polyethylene oxide 4000) 0.28 g, macrogol-1500 (polyethylene oxide-1500) – a sufficient amount to obtain a suppository weighing 2.25 g

Pharmacodynamics :

An antiseptic drug. It has a wide spectrum of antimicrobial action. Active against bacteria including Escherichia coli Staphylococcus aureus fungi protozoan viruses.

The Active ingredient of the drug – iodine is in the form of a complex with polyvinylpyrrolidone. The drug belongs to iodophores that bind iodine. When in contact with the skin and mucous membranes, iodine is released gradually and evenly.

Indications

Acute and chronic infectious inflammatory diseases of the vagina (mixed non-specific infections), including infections of the vagina caused by trichomonas and fungi; preoperative prevention of complications of infectious origin in gynecology.

Contraindications

Individual hypersensitivity to the drug hyperthyroidism Duhring’s dermatitis thyroid adenoma renal failure concomitant therapy with radioactive iodine children age I trimester of pregnancy lactation period.

With caution:

II and III trimesters of pregnancy chronic renal failure.

Side effects

Pruritus hyperemia at the application sites; allergic reactions.

Interaction

Do not use the drug in combination with other antiseptics containing mercury, alkali oxidants and cationic surfactants. In the presence of blood, the bactericidal effect of the drug may decrease.

How to take, course of use and dosage

The drug is used intravaginally. After releasing the suppository from the contour package, it is inserted lying on its back deep into the vagina.

For subacute and chronic vaginitis – 1 suppository before bedtime for 14 days (regardless of the phase of the menstrual cycle).

For acute vaginitis – 1 suppository 2 times a day for 7 days.

For preoperative prevention of infectious complications in gynecology, the drug is administered intravaginally 2 times a day (in the morning and in the evening before bedtime) for 1 – 7 days.

Special instructions

In the case of non-manifest hyperthyroidism and other thyroid diseases (especially in elderly patients), the drug is used only under strict indications and under constant medical supervision. Avoid contact with eyes.

Storage conditions

Store in a dry place protected from light at a temperature not exceeding 15 °C.

Keep out of reach of children.

Shelf
