Pharmacological action
Lysine Escinate is able to inhibit the activity of lysosomal hydrolases, which leads to a decrease in the rate of cleavage of mucopolysaccharides in connective tissue and the walls of small capillaries.
The drug has an analgesic effect, has an anti-edematous (anti-exudative) effect. During treatment, vascular tone and vascular-tissue permeability increase.
The drug has a moderately pronounced hypoglycemic effect.
Indications
- edema of the spinal cord, brain;
- displacement of the median structures of the brain;
- intracranial hematomas;
- subarachnoid hematomas;
- edema-swelling syndrome;
- edematous-painful vertebral syndromes;
- soft tissue edema with damage to the musculoskeletal system;
- edematous-painful syndromes of the trunk and extremities;
- disorders of venous outflow in the lower extremities in acute thrombophlebitis.
Contraindications
- of bleeding;
- pathology of the renal system;
- age limit-up to 18 years;
- individual hypersensitivity;
- breastfeeding;
- pregnancy period.
Side effects
Allergic responses: Â fever; hyperemia and itching of the lips, face skin; skin rashes (erythema, petechiae, papules); anaphylactic shock; urticaria; angioedema.
The nervous system: Â short-term loss of consciousness; dizziness; ataxia; tremor of the extremities; migraine headache.
The digestive tract: Â increased ALT, AST, and bilirubin; diarrheal syndrome; vomiting; nausea.
Cardiovascular system: Â unstable blood pressure; retrosternal pain; rapid heartbeat.
The respiratory tract: Â bronchial obstruction; shortness of breath; lack of air; dry, unproductive cough.
Other reactions: Â chills; severe weakness; phlebitis at the injection site; burning sensation during the procedure; feeling of heat; pain in the arm.
How to take, course of use and dosage
of L-lysine-aescinat can only be administered intravenously slowly. Intra-arterial use of the drug is unacceptable. The daily dose is 5-10 ml.
The infusion solution is prepared by mixing Na chloride (50-100 ml of 0.9% solution) and medication.
In rare cases, a jet infusion of the drug is allowed at a slow speed.
Instructions for use of L-lysine in life-threatening conditions (head injury, spinal cord edema, etc. ): double use of a 20 ml solution (total daily dose).
The course is designed for 2-8 days.
Lysine solution can only be stored in ampoules.
