Composition
Active ingredient:
lincomycin (in the form of monohydrate hydrochloride) 20 mg
Pharmacological action
Lincomycin ointment – antibacterial. Inhibits bacterial protein synthesis due to reversible binding to the 50S subunit of ribosomes, disrupts the formation of peptide bonds. After oral use,20-30% of the dose is absorbed, the maximum concentration in the blood is reached in 2-4 hours.
Penetrates into bile, bone tissue. It passes poorly through the blood-brain barrier. It is metabolized in the liver. It is excreted in the urine and faeces.
It is effective against gram-positive microorganisms (staphylococci, streptococci, pneumococci, diphtheria bacillus), some anaerobic spore-forming bacteria (Clostridium) and gram-negative anaerobes (bacteroids, mycoplasma).
It acts on microorganisms (especially staphylococci) that are resistant to other antibiotics. Resistance develops slowly. In therapeutic doses, it causes bacteriostasis, in higher doses – cell death.
