Composition

Active ingredient:

gangrenous antitoxin 30 000 IU.

Pharmacological action

Anti-gangrenous serum has a detoxifying effect. Neutralizes the toxins of anaerobic microbes.

Indications

Polyvalent purified concentrated horse anti-gangrene liquid serum is used for the prevention and treatment of gas gangrene, as well as for other gangrenous diseases

Use during pregnancy and lactation

The use of the drug is allowed for vital indications, taking into account the possible benefits for the mother and the risk to the fetus or child.

Contraindications

There are no contraindications for the use of anti-gangrenous serum.

Side effects

The introduction of serum can lead to the development of anaphylactic shock and other allergic reactions of an immediate type, as well as a symptom complex of serum sickness (fever, skin rashes, arthralgia), which appears in the early (2-6) days) and long-term (at 2 weeks) terms, lasting from several hours to several weeks.

How to take, course of use and dosage

Intramuscularly, a prophylactic dose of 30,000 IU; iv (drip), a therapeutic dose of 150,000 IU.

Special instructions

Taking into account the possibility of shock with the introduction of anti-gangrene serum, each vaccinated person should be provided with medical supervision within 1 hour after the introduction of the drug. Vaccination sites should be provided with anti-shock therapy.

Persons who have received anti-gangrenous serum should be warned about the need to seek immediate medical attention in case of signs that are characteristic of serum sickness.

The drug is unsuitable for use in ampoules with broken integrity or missing labeling, with changes in physical properties (color, transparency, the presence of undeveloped flakes), with an expired shelf life, with improper storage.
