Active ingredients
Lutein and zeaxanthin are carotenoids (yellow pigments in the central part of the retina). which perform important physiological functions, such as light filtering and antioxidant. They protect the retina and lens from the danger of damaging effects of light and reactive oxygen species. Lutein and zeaxanthin are present in high concentrations in the retina of the eye and form a filter from the light rays of the blue part of the spectrum.
Blueberry antioxidants stimulate the synthesis and regeneration of the visual pigment rhodopsin, which increases visual acuity, improves adaptation to dark and low-light conditions. Accelerates the process of retinal renewal, improves blood circulation and reduces eye fatigue from prolonged work.
Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is involved in neutralizing free radicals. It is necessary for the restoration of oxidized vitamin E (tocopherol radical), participates in the regulation of redox processes, regulates the restoration of visual pigments, reduces the risk of glaucoma. Vitamin C, as a powerful antioxidant, slows down the aging process in the retina.
Vitamin B1 (Thiamine) promotes normal energy metabolism, nervous system functioning, and mental health. In ophthalmology, vitamin B-1 is prescribed as part of a comprehensive treatment for various pathologies of the optic nerve. In addition, thiamine promotes the synthesis of the enzyme cholinesterase, which helps to reduce intraocular pressure.
Vitamin B2 (riboflavin) Riboflavin is an essential catalyst for cellular respiration and visual perception. Vitamin B12, regulating redox processes, takes part in protein, fat and carbohydrate metabolism, plays an important role in the formation of DNA, participates in the synthesis of hemoglobin, promotes the processes of tissue regeneration, correction of trophic disorders in cells, affects the condition of the eye mucosa. In ophthalmology, a lack of this vitamin leads to inflammation of the mucous membranes of the eyes and photophobia.
Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) promotes normal energy metabolism, takes part in the exchange of amino acids and proteins. In ophthalmology, pyridoxine minimizes the risk of developing or exacerbating eye diseases, especially diabetic retinopathy.
Vitamin E acts as a biological antioxidant that inactivates free radicals and thereby prevents their formation. Prevents increased fragility and permeability of capillaries. It is used to prevent the appearance and development of cataracts.
Vitamin A is a part of visual purpura and plays an important role in normal twilight and night vision. Supports normal operation of the retina. With a lack of this vitamin, a disorder of dark adaptation occurs, night (“chicken”) blindness, clouding and softening of the cornea.
Zinc is a part of superoxide dismutase and is involved in the antioxidant action, stabilization of cell membranes, as well as in important biochemical reactions of the retina. It improves the absorption of B vitamins. Zinc reduces retinal damage by preventing iron-induced cell damage. Helps protect cells from oxidative stress, promotes normal metabolism of carbohydrates, macronutrients, fatty acids and vitamin A, and normal acid-base metabolism.
Selenium is a trace element necessary for the body to synthesize its own powerful free radical deactivator, glutathione peroxidase, which protects the lens from age-related changes.
Chromium contributes to the normal metabolism of macronutrients and the maintenance of normal blood glucose levels.
Copper plays an important role in the removal of free radicals. Since high doses of zinc impair the absorption of copper, copper should also be taken when taking dietary supplements containing zinc. Copper contributes to the normal functioning of the immune system and the protection of cellular components from oxidative stress.
