Composition for 1 year

Active ingredients:  

phenazone – 40.0 mg;

lidocaine hydrochloride monohydrate in terms of lidocaine hydrochloride-10.0 mg;

Auxiliary substances: sodium thiosulfate (sodium thiosulfate pentahydrate) – 1.0 mg, ethanol (95% ethyl alcohol) – 221.8 mg, purified water-18.2 mg, sodium hydroxide solution of 1 M-up to pH 5.5±0.2, glycerol – up to 1.0 g

Pharmacological action

Pharmacodynamics

Phenazone has an anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect. Lidocaine has a local anesthetic effect.

Pharmacokinetics

The drug does not enter the systemic circulation with an intact eardrum.

Indications

Local symptomatic treatment and analgesia in children from birth and adults with:

– otitis media in the acute period at the time of inflammation;

– otitis media as a complication after influenza;

– barotraumatic otitis.

Use during pregnancy and lactation

Restrictions on the use of the drug during pregnancy and during breastfeeding are absent if the tympanic membrane is not damaged.

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug;

• perforation (violation of integrity) of the eardrum;

• hypersensitivity to pyrazolone derivatives (drugs containing metamizole sodium, phenylbutazone).

With caution

It is necessary to ensure the integrity of the eardrum before starting the drug. If the drug is used for a perforated eardrum, the drug can enter the systemic circulation and lead to complications.

Side effects

There is a risk of local allergic reactions, irritation and hyperemia of the ear canal.

If any of the side effects listed in the instructions get worse, or you notice any other side effects not listed in the instructions, tell your doctor.

Interaction

Currently, there is no information on interactions with other medicinal products.

How to take, course of use and dosage

Maxicold® Ototita is applied topically, by instillation in the external ear canal for adults and children 2-3 times a day for 3-4 drops. To avoid contact of the cold solution with the auricle, the bottle should be warmed in the palms of your hands before use.

The course of treatment should not exceed 10 days, after which the prescribed treatment should be reviewed.

You should see your doctor if symptoms worsen or don’t improve after 2-3 days of treatment.

If there is no improvement after treatment or new symptoms appear, you should consult your doctor.

Use the drug only according to the method of application and in those doses that are indicated in the instructions. If necessary, please consult your doctor before using the medicine.

Special instructions

Duration of application of Maxicold® Ototitis for no more than 10 days, after which the prescribed treatment should be reviewed.

When using Maxicold®Ototita in combination with other ear drops, it is necessary to maintain an interval of at least 30 minutes between instillations.

Information for athletes: the drug contains an active component that can give a positive reaction during doping control.

Influence on the ability to drive vehicles and mechanisms

The drug does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and work with mechanisms.

Storage conditions

At a temperature not exceeding 25 °C, in the original packaging. Keep out of reach of children.

Shelf

life is 2 years. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package. After the first opening of the bottle, the drug should be used for 30 days
