Pharmacological action

Neo-Angin N – antimycotic, antiseptic, local anesthetic.

Both dosage forms contain three active substances-2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol, amylmethacresol and levomentol. 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol is a derivative of benzene, amylmethacresol-phenol. Levomenthol is a cyclic monoterpene.

Neo-angin ® H has an antiseptic and minor local anesthetic effect, due to the combination of three active components: 2,4-dichlobenzyl alcohol, amylmethacresol and levomentol. Antiseptics are active against pathogenic microorganisms that infect the oral and pharyngeal mucosa.

The most common pathogens that cause pharyngitis are gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms such as staphylococci, pneumococci, fusobacteria and especially Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Haemophilus influenzae, Branhamella catarrhalis. Occasionally, pathogens are pathogenic fungi, yeast fungi, especially Candida albicans.

As a result of infection of the oral and pharyngeal mucosa, various types of inflammation occur with symptoms of colds, stomatitis, candidiasis, gingivitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis, tonsillitis and sore throat.

The main effect of 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol and amylmethacresol is due to the activity on the mucosal surface, both substances interact with cell membrane lipids, which explains the effectiveness against bacteria and fungi.

Levomentol supplements the action of two other active substances and has a small anesthetic effect based on the stimulation of cold receptors of the mucous membrane.

With three active ingredients, neo-angin® H is used to treat infectious and inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity and pharynx. The drug allows you to effectively conduct early treatment, thereby reducing the need for antibiotics. Neo-angin ® H reduces the symptoms of infectious and inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity and pharynx.

The drug is well tolerated and has a pleasant taste.

Based on many years of experience in the practical use of the drug, it was shown that there is no decrease in its effectiveness against pathogenic microorganisms with prolonged use of the drug.

The active components of the drug cause a local antiseptic and small local anesthetic effect, when the tablet slowly dissolves in the mouth. The adhesion of active components on the mucosa contributes to prolonging the action on the mucosa.

All components of the drug are rapidly absorbed and quickly removed.

The metabolite of 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol is 2,4-dichlorobenzoic acid, which is excreted by the kidneys as an acid or as a glycine compound. Amylmethacresol is oxidized to acid and excreted through the kidneys as glucuronide. Levomentol is excreted in the urine as a glucuronide.

Indications

Prevention and treatment of infectious and inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity and pharynx (pharyngitis, laryngitis, uncomplicated forms of sore throats, stomatitis, gingivitis), accompanied by sharp pain in the throat, difficulty swallowing.

Use during pregnancy and lactation

Neo-Angin H is contraindicated in children under 6 years of age

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the active and auxiliary components of the drug, children (up to 6 years).

The drug is not prescribed for patients with glucose-galactose malabsorption.

How to take, course of use and dosage

Inside. For adults and children over 6 years of age, slowly dissolve 1 tablet every 2-3 hours.

The maximum daily dose is 6 tablets.
