Pharmacological action
Noocholine Rompharm is a nootropic drug, a central cholinomimetic with a predominant effect on the central nervous system. The drug contains 40.5% metabolically protected choline. Choline alfoscerate in the body under the influence of brain enzymes, is broken down into choline and glycerophosphate. Choline is involved in the synthesis of acetylcholine, transmitting nerve impulses and improving brain function, and glycerophosphate is a precursor of phosphatidylcholine in neuronal membranes.
Choline alfoscerate improves cerebral blood flow, enhances metabolic processes in the brain, activates the structures of the reticular formation of the brain and restores consciousness in traumatic brain injury.
The results of clinical studies have shown that choline alfoscerate stimulates the dose-dependent release of acetylcholine under physiological conditions of neurotransmission.
